{Blog Love: Purple Area}

I've only been following the Purple Area blog for a few months, but what an inspirational few months they have been! As usual I've picked out what has inspired me most from this lovely blog; I especially enjoy the images and reviews of various interiors stores and colourful floristry. With an eclectic mix of whimsical shop window displays, simple yet chic home tours and plenty of inspiring photography, there is always something to inspire.

Images are mainly by Purple Area's author. If you see an image that's yours and know the credit, please let me know so that I can add it. Thank you!

{Blodwen General Store}

After a weekend full of sunshine and glorious blue skies I'm entering the week full of lust for bright, airy spaces, along with mix and match picnic-style textiles. If I was in Brooklyn I would go to the Brook Farm General Store, but seeing as I'm based in the UK, I'd happily settle for Blodwen - a super stylish General Store in Wales. It's an online emporium in honour of the traditional local craftsmanship, which has been given a modern edge with a spoonful of contemporary design and style. Their rugs and throws (2, 5 + 6) would make ideal picnic blankets, and just imagine being able to wake up and have coffee in that dining room (9) everyday...

{Colourful interiors advertising}

This advert is wonderful. I've got to give it to the ad agency, Leo Burnett who created the campaign because I would never usually think to go to Homebase for interior accessories. Now, however, I'm seriously tempted. I love how halfway through all the spaces come together and hundreds of different lights are illuminated. The colourful bridge is lots of fun too. It's a little like a stage set, just inside a train station instead of a theatre. Given the fantastic IKEA campaign running in Paris at the moment and now this work from Homebase, it seems there's plenty of interest around engaging consumers in the home sector. This is no bad thing; here's to more creative interiors advertising please!

{Brook Farm General Store}

This place is so lovely that I would like to move in. I don't care if it's a store and not a home, look how cosy it is! Plus, with stock that lovely why would I want to leave? The lovely guys from the Brook Farm General Store sum up their place brilliantly. So, in their own words, here's what they are all about:

Located just under the Williamsburg Bridge, in Brooklyn, NY, Brook Farm General Store is a modern general store offering a wide range of old and new items. From the most humble scrub brush to the most luxurious linen sheets, all of our products are useful, simple and timeless.

Useful, simple and timeless...I'm.In.Love. Happy Friday, everyone!

{Oh, hello Toast}

Image: Will Taylor

I ventured into Toast this afternoon and this little vignette caught my eye. The matt yellow and grey hues of the crockery have farmhouse chic written all over them. Love, love, love!

{More yellow lust}

We started the day with yellow, so why not end it the same way? I found this shower curtain on CB2 today and couldn't resist posting to tell you guys how much I love it. Graphic and yellow, it's a total win, win for me! See you tomorrow for the first Bright.Bazaar giveaway...

{Champagne lamp? Yes please!}

Image: Supermarket Sarah

Have you been shopping on Supermarket Sarah recently? When we featured Sarah's brilliant website on the blog last year, it was certainly very popular. I popped back onto the site this morning and look what I found - champagne lamps! They wouldn't look right in my flat, but still, I can appreciate the wonderfulness that is a lamp made out of a vintage lampshade and a bottle of champagne! You can buy the lamp here. Don't you think Sarah's website is refreshingly different? What products on the site do you like?

{Two yummy chairs}

It's Monday morning and a lazy Sunday afternoon cuddled up in my favourite armchair seems like forever ago. I went back to my hometown to spend some time with my family and a few old friends this weekend; what did you get up to? I'd love to hear about your adventures over the past few days.

I had a little dig around this morning and found these two yummy chairs, which look so inviting and even more stylish, that they make Monday morning not so bad! Tuesday's newsletter will be going out tomorrow, with all the latest interiors tips, discounts and inspirational ideas - sign up to the left for Bright.Bazaar in your inbox. In the meantime, take a look at these...

I'm not a huge fan of the SS10 collection from Heal's (it's a bit too zing, even for me!), but perhaps I'll grow to like it?! Any how, I do adore this chair: it's combination of retro styling with modern twists. The above is covered in Designers Guild Velvet - 10.0 on the luxurious Richter scale!

In April last year I wrote about Squint and I'm still loving their work, even if they did make last year's diary room chair for Big Brother! The George II armchair (above) is opulent, whilst maintaining personality, flair and colour - a winner in my book.

{What's your Habitat?}

How's your Monday been? Pretty average? Well, if you happened to be perusing Regent Street this morning you would have been in for an interiors treat. Habitat, firm favourites of mine, caused a stir in Central London this morning by throwing caution to the wind: they let gorgeous model, Helena Christensen have free reins over their Regent Street store's window. It was all part of the launch for their latest campaign - This is my Habitat. Check out this video interview with the campaign photographer - i.e. best.job.ever. Sounds rather cool, hey? (Not that I'm biased at all, as regular readers will know that I don't have a soft spot for the rather amazing furniture company. No, not at all...!)

Well I couldn't make it there in person, but trusty Bright.Bazaar sources (this is all getting a bit Gossip Girl) were there and they sent me these fantastic pictures. Check out Helena relaxing in her Habitat.
