{Champagne lamp? Yes please!}

Image: Supermarket Sarah

Have you been shopping on Supermarket Sarah recently? When we featured Sarah's brilliant website on the blog last year, it was certainly very popular. I popped back onto the site this morning and look what I found - champagne lamps! They wouldn't look right in my flat, but still, I can appreciate the wonderfulness that is a lamp made out of a vintage lampshade and a bottle of champagne! You can buy the lamp here. Don't you think Sarah's website is refreshingly different? What products on the site do you like?

{We love Jonathan Adler}

Jonathan Adler not only makes great homewares (more on that in a minute), but is also very funny. We suggest reading his about page if you feel like having a laugh: be prepared to read all about throwing pottery around, a parental intervention and the Norwich terrier Liberace!

Ok, so back to the products. There are so many lovely things on Jonathan's website, but we've picked out some of our favourites:

{Mini, but amazing!}

Mini Moderns are, quite frankly, really annoying. Why? Because we want to buy everything from their great range of homewares and wallpapers for kids and 'kidults'! Jointly ran by an ex-graphic designer and experienced brand strategist, Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire respectively, this is one super cool company. Mini Moderns is also the sister arm of Absolute Zero Degrees, which is Keith and Mark's London based design and branding agency.

Not only are their products lovely, but they are all made in the UK - a policy which has not only helped them keep their carbon footprint to a minimum, but also supports local businesses in the process. You should definitely check out their Shoppe and they are really nice guys, too, so why not say hello to them over on Twitter? Here's our favourite picks from their fun/funky/Ineedthatformyhouserightnow product range:

Cushions

From top to bottom: Sewn Sequels Limited Edition Cushions - Figs and Plant Pots; Sitting cushion

Wallpaper

Top to bottom: Town wallpaper; C60 wallpaper; Tick-tock (snow) wallpaper (you can colour it in - a-maz-ing!)

{Vintage hearts the digital world}

Two words: vintage shopping. If you're like us, then these words will probably conjure up images of romantic strolls through flea markets like this one in Paris; not images like this.

We're so excited to share this website with you all we might just burst! Supermarket Sarah is, quite possibly, the best online store we've ever used. Its a fusion of two periods; a juxtaposition of two very different worlds - the vintage and cyber worlds - and, amazingly, it works. The premise of the site is a simple one: Sarah arranges vintage objects on her living room wall, takes a picture of it and ta-da - Supermarket Sarah is born. How are new products added one may ask? Easily! Sarah makes another display on her living room wall and with the click and a flash of her camera, the new collection is ready to view and buy online. We love how ingenious this idea is - it's so simple, yet manages to effortlessly ooze imagination and personality. The Caravelle 50's Fergusion Radio has Bright.Bazaar's name all over it - considering our per chant for a good picnic we've an idea for the perfect use for it.

{There's no place like home}

We've heard the saying many a time before, but for Catherine Colebrook there really is no place like home. A busy mum of two, Catherine not only looks after her children but also runs a lovely interiors and gifts website - all from home! The new website features photography styled by Selina Lake and relaunches as her home appears in the September issue of Ideal Home Magazine. We don't know about you, but all this strikes us as pretty impressive, especially considering how gorgeous the products are on her site. From retro pictures, to handmade cushions and cards, the site offers a real mix of great buys.

"I caught the sewing bug from my Mum and Grandma," says Catherine, "I was absolutely fascinated by how clothes could be constructed from a length of fabric and the love affair began." Fifteen years later - not forgetting a stint appearing on the BBC's Casualty - and Catherine has achieved her original dream. With commissions from Bright.Bazaar favourites - we're talking the likes of Habitat and Laura Ashley - Catherine Colebrook is a must-visit interiors site.

{Lovely, indeed}

Recently we've been swooning over the gorgeous styling on the blog by stylist Selina Lake. Having styled for countless home and interior magazines including, Ideal Home and Country Homes and Interiors, we know Selina knows her stuff when it comes to styling a fabulous photo shoot. Take a look at these lovely pictures from the kitchen of her own home, which is now being rented:

The simplicity of her styling is what makes it so effective. We love how something as simple as a shocking pink tea towel can add such dramatic effect to the image. Using this as a focus for colour and then referencing it with similar, more subtle tones in the kitchen accessories, works wonders. The result - a kitchen to die for!

Having fallen head-over-heels for the gorgeous pink tea towel, we knew we just had to buy one for the Bright.Bazaar kitchen. The source? A great online store called Lovely Lovely, which sells a whole host of tempting bits and bobs for both your wardrobe, and your home.

{Picnic chic}

August has finally arrived, bringing with it a parcel of sunshine. This glimpse of summer could only mean one thing - it was time for a picnic. Strolling through the park we saw: couples, families, and friends; all of whom were enjoying the good weather. Whether tucking into a hearty picnic, playing a boisterous game, or just quietly reading; they had all graced the park without a picnic blanket. We couldn't help but wonder about the extravagant country picnics of days gone by, which would have included plenty of cloudy lemonade and strawberries and cream.

In hindsight, we have to admit that all the fresh air had probably made us a little dreamy. Even so, these picnic blankets from Moleta Munro - an Edinburgh based interiors store, which champions innovative British and European design - are not only stylish and practical; they are also a quick and easy way to achieving a chic look for your next picnic.

{A double dose of inspiration}

Have you just finished reading the latest issue of Country Homes & Interiors? Feeling a little like you've lost a friend? Fear not, as Bright.Bazaar has just discovered a fantastic blog called Country Days. A daily blog about the home and work life of none other than Rhoda Perry, Editor of said magazine, it provides insight on Rhoda's 'double' life. With tales from her working life in London and family life in the Sussex countryside, Country Days is both interesting and inspiring.

Rhoda recently shared her childhood memories in the post 'Granny's Attic'. Like Rhoda, I have many fond memories of my time spent at my Gran's house: playing cards by the open fire; chatting late into the night; and rushing into her room first thing in the morning to make her some fresh coffee. Situated down a tiny country lane; breached on both sides by the wild flowers of the countryside, her cottage still stands today. As I'm decorating her bedroom on my next visit, I feel it would be wrong not to include something from the new 'Granny's Attic' range by John Lewis. Thanks for the inspiration, Rhoda!

{Welsh Wonders}

Wow, what a busy few weeks it's been over at Bright.Bazaar HQ (sounds posh, but it really isn't - we're talking a tiny desk in front of a modest window!). I've just moved into a new flat, so last week was a case of packing, packing, packing and this week's been all about the unpacking, finding new homes for everything and nesting, which is something I really enjoy. In the little spare time I've managed to find, I've been busy planning ways to add a personal touches to the flat, all of which I will share on Bright.Bazaar when they are completed. I'm excited to try out new things and really make the most of my creative inspirations.

In the time Bright.Bazaar has been 'offline' I've really missed regularly catching up with all the latest Interiors news from the lovely ladies over at Wales At Home. This fantastic site is ran by interiors expert Nicola Wilkes. Nicola is a well respected interiors writer, who has written for some of my favourite interior mags including Elle Decoration, Ideal Home and Real Homes, to name but a few. The site features a diverse collection of interiors-related articles, competitions, book reviews, along with updates on the latest inspirational products available on the market.

Having spent three years living in Wales whilst I was at studying at Cardiff University, I feel a strong sense of nostalgia over almost anything related to my time there. Perhaps it's because it was during this time that I discovered my love for interiors, either way, Nicola's site is a delight to read/pour one's eyes over/generally browse at leisure. I highly recommend you check out her site here, but before you go here are some pictures from the Wales At Home team to give you a flavour of what to expect.
