Happy Weekend

Well folks, we're on the move back to London next week, so this weekend is all about packing, packing, packing. I'm so excited to return to the city that I've loved since I was a young child, but before I can enjoy being back in The Big Smoke, there are latte bowls to wrap, stack and pack. Thank you for your company this week, enjoy your weekend!

Ideal Home, The Colour Issue

There was much excitement when the April issue of Ideal Home dropped through the letterbox yesterday - it's the colour issue! Evidently I was in my element for the whole issue, but it was their five different cover looks that really caught my eye. Editors from across the magazine reveal their favourite cover looks and there's advice on how to translate the look into your own home. One of the strongest issues to come out of Ideal Home Towers in a while - bravo! Before you clock off for the weekend, let me know which cover look you like best.

Home Tour: Art Nouveau Style

The classic details and high ceilings in this apartment are telling of the building's turn of the century Art Nouveau style. Flooded with natural light and furnished with a hint of tongue-in-cheek attitude, this place instantly caught my eye. I like how it's been styled to illustrate the different atmospheres of the rooms: the bedroom is calm and serene for writing and relaxing, whilst the dining area, playroom and entryway are more playful in their approach. My favourite parts of the apartment are the dramatic ceiling heights and the small, but perfectly formed kitchen. How about you?

Three Effortlessly Stylish Dining Rooms

Whether you use it several times a year for holiday entertaining, or barely leave it because you are a serial dinner party host, there's no doubt you'll want your dining room to match your personality. If you're used to silver service, you might opt for a Modern Formal scheme; a traditional look updated with gloss brights for a dash of modernity. More casual in your approach? Then Country Charm is the look for you. With it's relaxed vibe and simple colour palette, this scheme would be the perfect backdrop for many a tea party - how very British! Finally, if your parties often feature music from the likes of Lady GaGa, you might be more at home with the bold and vibrant Retro Revival theme! One thing that's consistent throughout all these spaces are the simple elements that make them unique: colour, pattern and texture. Which space is for you?

Tine K Home Spring/Summer Collection 2011

Tine K Home always delivers a collection that oozes a gentle air of sophistication; never pretentious in their approach, season after season they present their assortment in a considered and effortlessly stylish manner. Their spring/summer 2011 offering continues in this vein with simple, classic patterns in delicate colourways. Thanks to Lana, I discovered that the collection was styled and photographed in an old laundry house that dates back to the 1880's, which is on Denmark's 2nd largest island, Fyn. So there you have it: a dash of trivia and a generous helping of delicious interior accessories - what more could one ask for on a Friday?!

DAY Birger et Mikkelsen Spring/Summer Collection 2011

Nauticals for spring? OK, so perhaps not the most inventive of themes, but beyond the anchors and ropes there are a few gems within DAY Birger et Mikkelsen's spring/summer collection. Take the graphic black and white textiles, for example, or the Day Sunflower cushion, all of which are standout pieces from the collection. With three colour themes - nautical blues, graphic blacks and romantic pinks and nudes - the spring/summer offering is fairly accessible for a number of schemes. So dive on in and take look at the beautifully styled collection.
