Home Tour: Relaxed Swedish Country Style

As much as I enjoyed the heat of last weekend in London, I'm also looking forward to the cosy days of Autumn that stretch out ahead. This country home in Sweden feels so perfect for this new season as layers of comfortable textiles are generously applied throughout the space. Plus, the red and white colour palette in the kitchen area (which actually flows more subtly through the rest of the home - see the bedspread and rug in the living room) feels festive and gently evocative of the holiday season. I always admire homeowners who embrace colour and pattern with stylish abandon, and this is one such example where both elements are used in abundance without going overboard. My favourite room is the living room, where the generous helping of natural light has been tempered with layers of linens, interesting artworks and up-cycled palette furniture, in turn keeping the space cosy and inviting. What do you like about this home?

Home Tour: Colourful & Vintage Swedish Space

You can almost always count on those Swedish folks to get colour just right, with this Boras home proving a fine example. The space is full of flea market finds, often in beaten, weathered hue of sepia, gun metal and brown, which creates a rustic feel against the modern all white colour base. Interior designer and owner of the home Jonanna Flyckt adds a third element that runs throughout the space: colourful accessories. Mixed with her love for all things vintage, Jonanna's bright additions bring personality and playfulness to her home. I love the worn out turquoise hues of the bedroom and the mix of electric and sky blues with bright orange in the dining area and kitchen. What do you like about Jonanna's home?

Home Tour: Bright and Quirky Swedish Apartment

Located in Malmo, Sweden this light and airy apartment is bursting at its colourful seams with inspiration for adding personality into a space. A bargain IKEA light and simple striped table cloth sets a playful and welcoming tone from the moment you pass through the front door. As you venture deeper into the apartment colourful additions continue to appear, from an azure blue sofa to striking art and a lavishly dressed mannequin, this space doesn't shy away from it's owner's vibrant personality. My favourite style feature is on the kitchen cabinets, which have been covered in vegetable illustrations that look like a food packet from the likes of Jamie Oliver et al. Their modern, playful and graphic nature turns the somewhat dull white cabinetry into an original statement feature. What catches your eye?

Home Tour: Swedish Charm

Be still, my beating heart! This mix of matt pink and black hues coupled with on-the-money subway tiles and exposed wooden floorboards has me all a fluster. The love affair started with the kitchen cabinetry, then knocked up a notch thanks to the playful colour blocking in the living room - by the time I reached the multi-stripe shower curtain, this cute Swedish apartment had me well and truly wrapped around its little finger. Truth be told, ever since I first spotted it over on Bri's 'spaces' column on sfgirlbybay I've been infatuated with it's pop brights and relaxed modern vibe. P.S. The blue bike? Super fun!
