{Fun on the Floor}

Well guys, carpet's back. It's a fact. Still not convinced. Well, take a little peak at these beauties from Fun on the Floor...

Yikes, that purple carpet (1) looks so, so good. I'd have that layed in my office in one second flat. Which style is your favourite?

{Cosy Bedrooms}

We're forecast a weekend of rain here in the UK, so after rediscovering my love of Will and Grace last weekend, I think I'll have a lazy morning with good coffee, plenty of pastries and a bundle of my favourite dvds. I'd be tempted to do this way too often if my bedroom looked like these two beauties!

{Blog Love: 7 Year Wedding}

Perhaps it's the romantic in me, or maybe it's just because this lady knows some serious style when she sees it. Either way, 7 Year Wedding is one fantastic blog. From swoonful weddings to breathtaking interiors, each post is pure escapism all wrapped up into one super stylish package. Here are my inspirations...

Who wouldn't want to dine at these tables? Bright blooms, fresh fruit table decorations and beautiful glassware, all mixed in with glittering candles and twinkling overhead lamps. For me, this is utter bliss.

If I was going to have cocktails on the beach then this is where I would do it. The simple mix of white, grey and yellow works wonders against the real star of this place - the stunning location.

Ok, so it's not interiors, but I do love my fashion. Those shoes and those stripey socks are me all over! Love them.

{Samantha Pynn Interiors}

Sigh. Some people are just too cool. Not only does Samantha Pynn have stunning taste in design, she's also the host and principal designer of Pure Design on HGTV. If that wasn't enough to keep her busy, Sam's also the Contributing Design Editor for Style At Home magazine. Go her! Anyhow, her new website launched this week and I found endless inspiration from her work. I especially love the play on scale in many of her schemes: the gold pendant shade (1), symmetrical photography wall (3) and oversized vases in the dining room (8) being a few favourites. Which ones call out to you?

{Bedroom Bliss}

I would happily set up camp in either of these two bedrooms. Is it just me or are yellow and black a total match made in heaven?!

I like how the heavy, panelled walls are softened with the bright pop of yellow in the softly upholstered headboard. I rather like the idea of having such a minimalist bedroom. Not in the traditional sense (white walls, white linens, white just about everything). No, I mean minimalist in the sense of 'scaled-back'. Using a tam tam stool as a nightstand and a cosy, but has-seen-better-days rug makes the room feel lived-in and relaxed, instead of feeling fixed or so beautiful I would be scared to sleep in it! What I suppose I am trying to say is: I like the fact it's a little rough around the edges.

I'd like to think I would be brave enough to paint a bedroom grey, but I'm not quite there yet. Still, I posted this grey and yellow combo because I instantly fell in love with the headboard. (I've got a bit of a thing for headboards at the moment as I'm looking for a new one!) I never knew navy, yellow and purple could look so scrumptious together. But my goodness, don't they look good? Again, there's nothing too OTT or fancy about this scheme: it's comfortable, welcoming and oozes sophisticated style. I'd be very happy with this bedroom.

{Bright Blooms #2}

I teamed simple white and yellow blooms for my flower arrangement this week. They seem to look best in the early evening sun...

{Summer Dining by Candlelight}

I've always enjoyed drawn-out late lunches that stretch into the late evening, especially during summer when I'm outside in the garden. I'm willing the weather to get warm enough here in the UK for my first alfresco dinner of the year! I tell myself it's because of the lovely barbecued food, but really it's because I'm longing to light some candles and make my own mini one of these...

{Bold and Functional Home Office}

This is such a simple and fun way to update an antique dresser, don't you think? Plus, it makes for a really practical home office solution with all that extra storage. The wallpaper may be bold, but somehow it feels sympathetic to the age of the dresser. Get the look with this clock, this lamp, these boxes and this wallpaper.

{The Rise of Mid-Century Style}

I was interested to read this morning that the high-street is to move away from more classical styles to embrace Mid-Century flavoured collections. You can read the full article from the Guardian here. In the meantime, swoon over Danish designer Finn Juhl's calming living room. I'm loving the exposed wooden floors and that white sofa is too stylish for words.

{Colour Inspiration: Yellow}

Oh my goodness, this colour has a serious hold over me. It's everywhere I look. Plus, the more I see it, the more I enjoy it. As soon as I buy my own place I'm painting a pair of doors bright yellow (1) and then I think I'll buy some block shelves and paper the insides with different yellow patterned wallpapers (11). Which one of these ways with yellow is your favourite?
