{Colour Cocktail: Black and Gold}

I'm so pleased it's Friday, aren't you? I'm in the mood for a weekend of relaxation and a touch of indulgence. There's no decor scheme more perfect for this than black and gold - it's the ultimate in luxe glamour. I feel like diving onto that couch below, cracking out my favourite escapist movies (Devil Wears Prada, anyone?!) and tucking into all my favourite finger foods (olives, lots of them). From this week's colour cocktail picks I'm really drawn to the gold scratch vase, and that taxi pillow is certainly interesting; I see something new in it everytime I look at it. {Teal}

Until I started researching for this post I had never held Teal in a high regard. This wasn't purposeful, rather I just felt drawn to other hues more regularly. Well, I now consider myself fully converted because this set of images shows that it's an incredibly versatile colourway. From the insides of kitchen cupboards (1) and rustic shutters (3) to the anchor accent in a heavily patterned scheme (6) and then mixed in with a variety of other colours (7). Not bad, hey? My favourite has to be the kitchen cupboards option - simple but effective. Which is yours?

{Colour Inspiration: Pink #2}

All the lovely, sparkling chandeliers from this morning have gotten me in the mood for another hit of pink. And why not, hey? It makes a change from the usual white shades we see painted on exposed brick walls (1) and as for that hallway (9), well, if I walked through the door to that I'd be super happy. Notice how pink and white are paired together almost through out these images. Interesting to see how subtle introductions of green (1, 8), through the headboard and cake stand respectively, help to lift the two schemes. All of these rooms are yummy, which is your favourite?

{Colour Inspiration: Purple}

Purple is an interior decorator's ticket to adding drama to a scheme. As these images demonstrate, this is not often a colour of sublety. That said, it can look fantastic and is at its best when used in dining rooms and, somewhat surprisingly, kitchens. My top tip for using purple would be to either be brave and hit your room with a punch of the jewel-like colour (1, 11) or just use as a surprise accent (4, 7). My favourite purple schemes are the kitchens (2, 6) - I think it's the unexpected nature of purple being used in them. Have you, or would you, decorate with purple?

{Blog Love: A Punch of Color}

You guys know I adore colour, so it's super exciting whenever I come across a blog dedicated to it. A Punch of Color is one of those blogs that inspires you in an instant; with it's short posts and say's-what-everyone's-thinking commentary, you won't be disappointed to include this in your daily read. My favourite feature on Shelia's blog are her weekly 'Mondays could be so much easier if...' posts. {Colour Inspiration: Yellow}

Oh my goodness, this colour has a serious hold over me. It's everywhere I look. Plus, the more I see it, the more I enjoy it. As soon as I buy my own place I'm painting a pair of doors bright yellow (1) and then I think I'll buy some block shelves and paper the insides with different yellow patterned wallpapers (11). Which one of these ways with yellow is your favourite?
