{10 Things I Learned This Weekend...}

The bank holiday means it's still the weekend here in the UK...bliss! Whether you're taking a long weekend or if you are back at work, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Here's a snapshot of mine...

1. I downloaded the latest free desktop wallpaper from Holley and Gill. Head over and do the same; the design is beautiful and don't get me started on the colour! P.S. You can chat with them on twitter, too.
2. IKEA purchase #1 Barometer Desk Lamp
3. IKEA purchase #2 Vilmie Ruta Cushion
4. IKEA purchase #3 Barbar Tray
5. I blame the gorgeous interiors from SATC2 for my IKEA spendings! (Sidenote: wasn't the film brilliant?! I love how it was a pure romp and that they didn't stretch out the storylines too much from SATC1.)

6. Love this outfit from Zara.
7. I watched A Good Year for about the 7th time and I still love it.
8. Saw the trailer for Letters To Juliet, which looks wonderful and beautifully shot.
9. Three day weekends really are something special.
10. This bouquet took my breath away.

{Weekend Thoughts}

{Butler Sinks}

I'm not sure if I love butler sinks because when I was growing up we had one in our kitchen, or if it's just because they have that comforting country-like feel to them. Either way, they don't half look fantastic in these kitchens. Plus, check out someone who's been a bit clever and popped a stainless steel version (5) in the ultra modern, black gloss kitchen. It's great how brave the designer was with colour in that scheme - black units, black ceilings and black doors. More of this please!

{Bright Blooms #4}

We've nearly reached the weekend guys... one more sleep! I took some downtime last night to arrange some fresh orange roses for this week's Bright Blooms post. Flowers bring me a lot of happiness and I'm keen to learn more about them, so if you read any great floristry blogs, I'd love for you to let me know.

{Linda Barker's Villa Verne Collection}

Who remembers Changing Rooms from the 90's?! I used to sit down with my family and watch it every Thursday night (who knew I'd still love interiors all these years later?). Anyhow, Linda Barker, one of the designers from the series has just launched her new Villa Verne collection. Inspired by her own Provence home, Villa de la Verne, the collection is made up of chateau chic-inspired pieces that can be delivered direct to your door. A touch of French glamour at the click of a button? This could be dangerous folks...

{Architectural Digest May 2010: Gerard Butler's New York Loft}

Aye up. What's this? A super, mega, huge Hollywood star who actually comes across as fun, friendly and genuinely interested in his interviews? Yeah, that would be Gerard Butler. So, now we've established that he comes across as a nice fella, let's check out his New York loft. Yes, those lovely people at Architectural Digest took us on a tour of his space in the Chelsea district and it certainly doesn't disappoint. Gerard said he wanted to space to be "...elegant and gorgeous and at the same time rather masculine and raw." For me the dramatic chandeliers (3, 4, 6, 7) make the space that little bit more special. This wonderful space was designed by Production Designer Elvis Restaino, so it's no surprise the space is high in the drama stakes. Feast away my friends...

{John Lewis Bedding}

John Lewis have really gone places with their latest bedding collection - fresh, summery and laid back, all with a hint of fabulousness. There are patterns like the PiP Studio collection (1) that pack a punch of bold flavour or you catch forty winks in serious style under patterns from Designer's Guild (2, 6, 7, 8). I'm a bit of a stripe addict, so my faves have to be 3 (Sherbet Stripe - love this product name) and 9 for it's interesting colourways. Which covers do you like?

{Magazine Review: Nesting Newbies Issue Three}

The new issue of Nesting Newbies went online over the weekend and, just like the previous two issues, it's a delectable treat. Issue three's highlights for me include: the feature on how to use everyday tableware to create stunning tablescapes (2,3); a modern, statement light (4) and the diy tutorial on creating a colourful pendant shade (7). Be sure to check out all 185 pages of goodness from the latest issue, here. Thanks to the Editorial team for another lovely issue!

{Tam Tam Stool: White or Bright?}

Tam Tam Stools = perfect, bargainlicious, style-champion, all-round winner.
But, the million dollar question is...white or bright?!

{10 Things I Learned This Weekend...}

Wow. What a weekend. Parks, picnics, G+T's, sunshine, friends, shopping...so much packed into two very fun and lovely days. I have lots to sort out for the week ahead, but I wanted to jump online quickly to, 1) say I hope you all had lovely weekends and 2) share with you some iphone snaps (hence the terrible quality!), and the fun things I did this weekend in London.

1. 'Forget the rules - if it makes you happy, wear it!' What a lovely mantra, hey? I snapped this on the wall in the changing rooms in H&M on Regent Street. Fun.
2. This was the yummy pizza I devoured for lunch on Sunday. Yeah, me and the calorie gang got to know each other pretty well over the past few days.
3. I checked out the new Anthropologie store on Kings Road, London. I hope to post a review later this week. Stand by for visual merchandising that will blow your mind - amazing.
4. A cheeky one of me. Yes, my trademark blue stripes were out in force again!
5. I'm so greedy that I couldn't wait to tuck into my pizza before I took a picture...!

6. The English countryside can't be beaten in the beauty stakes during summer.
7. Spending the day playing rounders, cricket, having a picnic and drinking Pimms in the park is a fine way to spend a summer's day.
8. Zara Home is actually rocking my world, I purchased the Reggi cushions in grey and yellow.
9. Gin and Tonic was my drink of the weekend.
10. I didn't go online once for a whole two days and it was pure bliss. But, of course, I did miss you guys!

What did you get up to this weekend?
