Three Ways To A Brilliant Bedding Update

I'm a total bedding addict. Yep, 110%, flat out, I'm a slave to bedding! Nothing beats that feeling of slipping into new sheets, but equally, little equals the joy (well, perhaps chocolate and scented candles!) of seeing the difference a new set of bedding can make to a bedroom. It's often written that when decorating a bedroom you should start with the bed. In my decorating book, there's no start and finish. Rather, I like my bedroom to evolve and be flexible enough to change not just with the seasons but with my mood and taste, too. I think carefully about the the furniture, wall decorations and accessories, continually keeping in mind my bedding buying habit to ensure the canvas can take my eclectic tastes. For me, that's why these three spaces work: taking each of them in turn we can see they have similar background schemes - white or pale grey palettes dominates the spaces, yet they all have a distinct vibe of their own. And this is all thanks to their bedding. Playful stripes in sophisticated yet light-hearted hues add style to a country bedroom in scheme one; citrus brights criss-cross in wide checks to add fresh masculinity to the second; and a pretty floral print softens the industrial brickwork and exposed wood floorboards of the third. Which takes your vote?

Brilliantly Graphic & Colourful Bedding

Don't you just love how a simple change of bedding can totally change up the feel of a bedroom? I often swap mine out for different styles, especially as the seasons change. I'm also open to spending a little more on bedding than say, cushions, because we spend so much time in bed so it makes sense for me to invest in this area of my home. As for these designs by Aura Home, well they are ideal for adding a touch of graphic style to a bedroom. Try the purple chevron design as an accent to an emerald green scheme, or use the teal, purple, silver and ochre stripe design to add colour to a pared back space. Which patterns are catching your eye?

Sneak Peek: Joules' Debut Bedding Collection

Mr. Bazaar's top picks: Kids | English garden pillowcase | Strongman cushion | Cool Cat cushion | Adults | Ribbon Stripe Horse pillowcase | Deckchair Stripe towel | Coastal Boats pillowcase
Today I'm bringing you a sneak peek of British brand Joules' debut bed and bath collection for kids and adults, which launches in August. The collection is a collaboration with Bedeck and reflects the iconic British countryside, with inspirations pulled from outdoor pursuits including sailing, gardening, rugby and equestrian activities. Having seen all the pieces in person last week I can safely say that the quality is on point, with each design soft to the touch and excellent details upon the cushions such as embroidery, appliqué and ribbon detailing. I also love that the children's designs come in single and double sizes, so that kid-ults like Mr. Bazaar (!) can also buy the pieces. I love the colourful dots seen on the reverse of the Piggy Cat Farm design and the Strongman cushion from the Circus collection is very fun and ideal for a little boy's room. From the adult collection I'm drawn to the Sunbird Floral and Coastal Birds designs. Which pieces and designs do you like best, folks?

{John Lewis Bedding}

John Lewis have really gone places with their latest bedding collection - fresh, summery and laid back, all with a hint of fabulousness. There are patterns like the PiP Studio collection (1) that pack a punch of bold flavour or you catch forty winks in serious style under patterns from Designer's Guild (2, 6, 7, 8). I'm a bit of a stripe addict, so my faves have to be 3 (Sherbet Stripe - love this product name) and 9 for it's interesting colourways. Which covers do you like?
