I'm a total bedding addict. Yep, 110%, flat out, I'm a slave to bedding! Nothing beats that feeling of slipping into new sheets, but equally, little equals the joy (well, perhaps chocolate and scented candles!) of seeing the difference a new set of bedding can make to a bedroom. It's often written that when decorating a bedroom you should start with the bed. In my decorating book, there's no start and finish. Rather, I like my bedroom to evolve and be flexible enough to change not just with the seasons but with my mood and taste, too. I think carefully about the the furniture, wall decorations and accessories, continually keeping in mind my bedding buying habit to ensure the canvas can take my eclectic tastes. For me, that's why these three spaces work: taking each of them in turn we can see they have similar background schemes - white or pale grey palettes dominates the spaces, yet they all have a distinct vibe of their own. And this is all thanks to their bedding. Playful stripes in sophisticated yet light-hearted hues add style to a country bedroom in scheme one; citrus brights criss-cross in wide checks to add fresh masculinity to the second; and a pretty floral print softens the industrial brickwork and exposed wood floorboards of the third. Which takes your vote?

I love all three looks! Can't wait to get new spring bedding :-)
ReplyDeleteI love bedding too. And I am totally attracted to colorful, bright and bohemian patterns...however, I always go with all white. Just changed my bedding this past weekend. All white with bright decorative pillows...and of course I am totally being a freak about the dogs jumping up on the bed LOL. My vote is on the first one.
ReplyDeleteI am sooo in need of new bedding! My favourite thing is crawling into freshly laundered, crisp sheets...it's the little things, right? Loving all of these...especially those stripes!

It is indeed the little things, Lily - well said!
DeleteSuch fun bedding! I bought mine from IKEA after searching for two years, and now I'm bored with it…because it's beige. What do you know?! I think these fun ones will inspire me to change out my bedding.
ReplyDeleteIts got to be number one for me Will! - gorgeous! I'm currently trying to experiment with Nurseries and how that's all going to fit together; its a totally different ball game to adult bedrooms but I'm still thinking yellow candy stripes.
ReplyDeleteI'll go with the stripy version - my kind of bedding:-)
ReplyDeleteIt's all about the florals!!
ReplyDeletelove all three but the Cath Kidson stripe is the winner! the painted step ladder is great as a bedside table too. so many things you can pair with a good stripe
ReplyDeleteI agree, stripes are timeless - love them!
DeleteI love the first one although I have to say that all my bedding is always white. Yes I am one of those person that tends to change their wall colors more often than their bedding sets. (Only works if you buy top quality bedding though....)
ReplyDeleteSomeone who changes their wall colours more often than their bedding sets? You've one to the right blog, Corinne! ;)
DeleteWhere oh where can i get my hands on that floral bedding!!!???
