Yeah! The weekend has arrived and I couldn't be happier to have two days stretched out ahead of me to relax. Although I do have a little bit of work to do, I'm going to make sure I take time to pop to the flower market and take in some inspiring sights and scents. If the whole weekend was free, I'd love to try out this graduation banisters DIY. Easily achieved in a weekend, you should start by using old newspaper to cover the stairs before sanding down each individual banister, wiping clean and then coating them with two coats of primer. As the primer dies work out your graduation on paper and then give each shade a corresponding number and pencil each number onto the banister so you know what colours to use when. Once dry you might wish to varnish the banisters to make the more durable to knocks and scratches. The result? A stylish colour statement for your home! What are your weekend plans, friends?

What a fun idea Will. DIY on the weekends are always fun!
ReplyDeletei kind of love this concept...but i'm super distracted by the white stairs. how often would someone have to paint Those!? they would get so dirty...and i don't even live in america/the movies where people wear their shoes all around the house...
ReplyDeleteLoved this idea when I first saw it and what an easy way to add fun and color to an otherwise "white box"!!
ReplyDeleteI also got some work to do this weekend as well. lots of driving around and getting stuff dropped off and picked up more pieces. A couple of special post I need to work on as well. Wish me luck!
that is great. makes me want to have a staircase i could do this to. ;-) no plans on the weekend {just reading, watching films, being sick with the flew}, have a great weekend, Will.
ReplyDeleteNice Stairs.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.

I like to keep most things neutral, but then add colour here and there, so this is just perfect! Thanks for sharing, Will!:)
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a fun DIY idea. I'm so tired today that I plan to do absolutely nothing. Well, later today I'm making lasagne for my folks and getting sushi for myself. It'll be heaven!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend ;-)
oh i like this! i feel like we have no spare time lately with redoing our kitchen. maybe in a few months we can try a few fun projects. thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Mr. Bright Light,
ReplyDeleteThe banisters look so wonderful against all that fresh white.
I am off to do some serious weeding in the backyard!
Enjoy the market!

I'd love to try this with my very traditional home, but my DH would never go for it! Isn't it great though?! I'd be happy just to paint my ugly oak bannisters black.
