If you're thinking of ways you might be able to introduce bold and bright hues to your home this week's Colour Palette is for you. Here we can see how this space remains fresh and airy despite the raspberry coloured statement ceiling. This bold introduction of colour works well because it doesn't dominate what is a relatively small space yet makes it stacks more interesting than an all white scheme. The key takeaway here is to pick a communal or walk through space such as a hallway or a landing, where you will be able to be more adventurous with your choice of hue.

I've done this and it's truly amazing......I wasn't bold enough to use that bright fuschia though!!!

I once painted a small bathroom black {walls and cabinets}, the fixtures were white, the counter white. I added white sheers on a tension rod the full height of the room - this covered the bath/shower area {very elegant}. Added a black chandelier with lots of crystals. THEN - I painted the ceiling ice blue. Stunning!
ReplyDeleteIt was one of my favourite rooms. Go bold.
I desperately want to paint a bright coloured ceiling but living in Australia there are ceiling fans in every room and they really are a necessity. That doesn't mean I want to draw attention to them though! Still thinking of a way to do something like this... xx
