Six Ideas For Your Holiday Tabletops

Many of us are gearing up for a celebratory dinner in a few days, whilst some of us are looking for New Year's Eve party sidetable ideas, but let's face it, this week is traditionally pretty manic. So, why not take inspiration for your holiday tablescape from one of these six looks. I've opted for the rustic and welcoming look because it's stylish, but not too loud. Rather, it's simple paper chains and candles in empty bottles - which have been festooned with spare baubles - create a table that guests will feel comfortable to sit around. Plus, with time being tight, it's probably the quickest of all the looks to whip together. Group together the four key elements - bottles, candles, paper chains and spare decorations - and there you have it: the perfect table for festive celebrations. Which of these six looks do you like best?

  2. Hm, I'm going with modern and chic, it's the one that represents an Aussie summer Christmas the best!
No table for us this year, as we'll be road-tripping. Perhaps I could jazz up a picnic table by the beach.....

  3. Manic is right! I've got my table set, but I'm on the verge of getting sick. Aren't we all?!!!

I can only narrow down to my top 3, which are 3,4 & 5.
Love it when something is hanging from the chandelier!

    Merry merry mania!!!

  9. I like the rustic one Will, except for the hard bench. Ouch! Think I'll go for the opulent one.
Hope you have a lovely Christmas.
    Lots of love,

  13. Hello and thank you for these wonderful table treats!
I like elements in each of them, and am especially drawn to candles.
The rustic table scape is fab, and my knees go weak at the sight of that distressed brick wall!

Wishing you a wonderful Xmas and a magic New Year.
I hope you'll enter my give away - Marshall's photos may not be bright and colourful but they are beautifully shot and edited.

    Big hugs

  14. There is a VERY strong temptation to whip one of my tablecloths out of the sale (I've had my eye on one in particular for ages!) for my Christmas table - it would clash delightfully with my ricidulously oversized Victorian silverware. Maybe I deserve a Christmas pressie from Natural History?

I'd have to go with the vintage romantic table, in that case, I think.

  18. Will, I was about to declare the dramatic black dining-room set-up as my favorite (what a great idea; the holly works magically with the black!), but then I saw the whitewashed brick set-up below, and knew it was my fav -- and that was without seeing it was your own "Mr Bazaar" fav. Well, great minds think alike, as they say. :-)

Here's wishing you a splendid holiday season, which I hope you're already heavily enjoying. And tomorrow's Christmas Eve! My favorite, magical day. :-) And all the best for a successful, inspiring and healthy 2011 -- you deserve it!

    XO

  19. Really hard to chose but I think the rustic one with a few vintage elements and maybe a little more colour!
I can only dream of table settings. We have soooo many people round the table that there just isn't room for anything other than the food ;)
