Do you have fun plans for the weekend, friends? I'm hoping for a quiet one after a super busy week; I have a book to finish, a stack of September issues to read and some new recipes from the latest Jamie magazine that I'm keen to try. This week's tablescape is a dark and moody affair with jet black hues dominated the scheme, softened by delicate silvers and broken up with occasional orange-copper accents. I love the idea of hanging mementos and photographs above the table - the perfect way to personalise a table for any event!

Home Tour: A Colourful Los Angeles Home

At first it was the gallery wall that caught my eye in this delightful Los Angeles home, then I saw the dramatic library-meets-dining room space, which is a great example of how to use colour to zone a space for two different uses. The charcoal grey works wonders on the floor-to-ceiling bookshelves; the hot pink seat cushions accent the charcoal hue to great effect whilst also centering the middle of the room as a dining area. Finally, I felt inspired by the zesty, citrus hues of the home's light-flooded living room. Interest is added to a simple white sofa through colour and pattern, and vintage furniture sits alongside modern buys - a mix that works with ease. What do you like about this colourful home?

Three Inspirations: Desk / Dining / Bathroom

This week's inspirations include a pared-back, simply decorated workspace - note the map of Paris (nice touch!), the typographical 'A' and anglepoise lamp, all of which create a sense of balance to the space, all the while adding character and visual interest to the desktop. The second space is a Scandi-inspired dining room where a white scheme has been brought to life with bold colour blocking and a textured rug with stripe detailing. Finally, I couldn't help but include this almost dream-like, traditional bathroom. The long drapes, sizable window, wooden floorboards and roll top bath all won me over!
