As much as I enjoyed the heat of last weekend in London, I'm also looking forward to the cosy days of Autumn that stretch out ahead. This country home in Sweden feels so perfect for this new season as layers of comfortable textiles are generously applied throughout the space. Plus, the red and white colour palette in the kitchen area (which actually flows more subtly through the rest of the home - see the bedspread and rug in the living room) feels festive and gently evocative of the holiday season. I always admire homeowners who embrace colour and pattern with stylish abandon, and this is one such example where both elements are used in abundance without going overboard. My favourite room is the living room, where the generous helping of natural light has been tempered with layers of linens, interesting artworks and up-cycled palette furniture, in turn keeping the space cosy and inviting. What do you like about this home?

Darling, darling, darling place!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty post, Will. I love all the pops of red against the white.
ReplyDeleteI used to think red and green looked too christmasy together, but I think I'm converted! The colours look so light and refreshing:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Will!
I love all the pops of red, and the idea of hanging a 3-d object on the wall and then hanging a frame around it. Swedish style is so inspirational!
ReplyDeleteLoving the red and white! Sometimes red and white + blue can be a little "America - like" ... but these vignettes are so fresh, preppy, and making me very happy! Thanks for the inspiration Will :)
ReplyDeleteOh you know that place has been one of my favorites too ;) ;) ;) It's always great to see you explain the composition of a room, why it works....you do that so well. What I love about this home is that it feels personal - the collection of hats on the bedroom wall, the huge tin cans as plant pots - so many fun details.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about that home! The art wall is perfect! I love all of the bright and bold colors. Just perfect.
ReplyDeleteLovely! It feels like home. Red and white are my favorite colors, a little Danish though I'm Swedish.
ReplyDeleteAdore the plates in the kitchen, and the scissors in the frame is such an unusual idea.
ReplyDeleteI love all. The relax and free and informal style, the light and bright colors. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love the dining area - gorgeous chairs and the pop of red makes it such a fresh and cheerful space.

Such a happy inviting home! I love the fresh colours. The purple and white plates look pretty and the living room is really great. I particularly like how they played with different scale items to add deam to the room - like with the oversized vases.
