Deep, dark and seductive with shimmering copper undertones The Copper Twist is the colour cocktail to order when it comes to decorating entertaining spaces. Perfect for setting a romantic and intimate mood, the marriage of a glamorous jet black back hue with a timeless copper accent works wonders in dining rooms. Be generous with your use of the noir shades, working them into the walls and furniture only breaking them occasionally with crisp white. Then, serve the space straight up with a twist of copper and caramel hues to garnish the space: in a pendant, a standalone vase, a leather chair and so on. Try this next time you redo your dining space and you'll be left wishing you'd ordered two Copper Twists straight up!
Love, love, love the copper with the pale wood, leather and black. Look forward to using this in my kitchen.
ReplyDeleteBe sure to share if you do, I would love to see because it's such a wonderful colour palette!
DeleteI've just bought 2 pieces of art for the living room with copper and gold in them, and this has given me ideas of what else I need in the room to bring the copper together, I'm thinking an ornate frame or new floor lamp is on the shopping list
ReplyDeleteLove the table and the beautiful black wall !
ReplyDeleteMe too - the black wall reminds me of the one in my bedroom!
Deletei fell in love with the 'davey factory ceiling light' {your no. 4} and of course with the black wall {i'd love to have a chalkboard wall in the kitchen some day}. thanks for sharing this dramatic theme with a twist. have a lovely day, Will.
ReplyDeleteNumber four is my favourite pick also! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteWhat a fabulous, entertaining post Will! Such a great colour scheme and that copper pendant light is to die for!

I'm so pleased the high street are latching onto this trend. About 3 years ago, I saw the huge Tom Dixon copper light fixture- perfect for over a dining room table, but the price is prohibitive for me. I don't know if a dark Victorian terrace house could deal with black walls (or if I actually could) but it does look amazingly striking. Thanks for your picks! Hope your day has some bright light to it too.
ReplyDeleteI've loved that Tom Dixon pendant for some time as well. Habitat have this as well which is quite nice:

These copper tones mixed with black and white is utter perfection! I adore all of these lighting ideas, especially #3. Great cocktail Will! xx
ReplyDeleteJustlike Lauren I was smittenby the Tom Dixon pendant when I first saw it, but unfortunately our of my price range. It is the perfect accent to my otherwise neutral colour scheme at home (white, grey, wood and a few black details). I really ike the lamp from John Lewis.

I have #5 on my nightstand. It's one of my favorite things in my house.
ReplyDeleteYou have great taste! ;)
DeleteNice colors but i prefer the usual sparkling You!! :)
ReplyDeleteI just saw your blog from 2010 on black and gold...I think pairing black and copper is even better! I once spotted a Mini Cooper in black with copper stripes....it made my day!
ReplyDeleteBlack and white and copper looks really good. I think it's the black wall that brings it all together though. And I love the lamp in four.
ReplyDeleteOh to own one of those Tom Dixon lights... beautiful in pretty much any setting! Love the copper tones. I think it also works really well with some colours as well as monochrome palettes - pale pastels are good with copper (esp pinks, even though that sounds like it would be totally wrong!).

Copper's the new brass! Yeah! And I love that triangle rug. Hope you had a sweet Heart's day yesterday. :)
ReplyDeleteReally like the copper especially with the black! Think its a cool alternative to silver xx
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! This post really caught my eye. I'd not even thought about using copper as an accent.... as always, your blog is an inspiration!

Is great to see you used this particular image for inspiration. I actually showed my brother this living room last week, for he needs inspiration on a camel colored interior:) The copper gives the exact right glamorous touch.
ReplyDeleteThe ultimate bachelor pad. I like the contrast!
ReplyDeleteOne always anticipates gold or silver in a decor setting...this copper is a wonderfully unexpected twist!
ReplyDeleteSo dramatic and moody, but still comfortable and warm. Great combo!
ReplyDeletesooo love those dark walls!
ReplyDeleteI'm so into metals right now. gimme gimme!
ReplyDeleteTotally loving the copper. In fact if I was going to have a nice cocktail from a copper shaker, I'd go for a Moscow Mule; Hollywood glamour personified!!
ReplyDeleteI love a dramatic black wall and with copper accents...bliss!
