I can't believe we're already half way through my week of birthday giveaways. Thank you to all of you who have joined in with the fun and commented so far, it's been lovely hearing about what you would do with the various potential additions to your homes. Today I have a nice and simple giveaway for you. For the chance to win two packs of Habitat postcards by John Murphy and Thierry Bisch, please leave a comment explaining who you would send a postcard to and why. Today's giveaway is open worldwide, so to my friends around the world, I'm so pleased you can enter this one. Best of luck!
T's and C's: This giveaway closes at midnight on the 10th March 2010 and is open to readers worldwide until it closes. Only one comment per reader, please. The postcards cannot be exchanged for cash or any other product. Thanks for entering.
I send postcards to my Nan, telling her what I'm up to with my day. She's in a nursing home so doesn't get to go out much, and I don't get to see her very often. It's nice to send her snippets about my week. She's like the butterfly and deer postcard the most.
ReplyDeleteI would explain johnny depp and/or eddie vedder that the butterflies surronding the beautiful deer are the ones from my stomach when I think about them, who have scaped for just a while...
ReplyDeleteAn international contest! Is that valid in Quebec? lol. Insider joke. Will explain much later. Hey Will! Happy blog birthday. This is like.. really awesome goodie bags. : ) So.. where would I send these postcards to? To Japan! To my awesome great sweet friend Sayuri in Tokyo who is now overswamped at work because of cutbacks. These would sweeten up her day.
ReplyDeleteI have a sister who's seven years younger than I am--I've graduated college and am out on my own, and she's still in high school. We're in different parts of the state, and we keep in touch mostly through e-mail, but I think postcards would be a great way to shake it up.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for including us Will!
ReplyDeleteSo I think I would probably first have to book a trip to either England or France, then send them back home so I could frame them for when we got back (yes, I like them that much)!
Happy Blog B-Day!
the pink elephant postcard would be perfect hello to send to my new fairy god daughter. she was born in ethiopia and now lives with her wonderful parents on the other side of the world. so a pink elephant would be a great surprise in the post!
ReplyDeleteI'd be posting a card to The Boyfriend who lives all the way over in Gloucester. He deserves a nice postcard. I reckon it's nicer than a text message.
ReplyDeleteAnd he likes deers. Honestly.
HAPPY BLOG BIRTHDAY
ReplyDeleteThis will probably sound selfish but I think they are too nice to give away, I would keep them and frame them and then make a feature wall from them. LOL
I would send the one with the deeron to my parents, it reminds me of walks in Richmond park and and at Knowle House when I was little (they have deer, lot of them!)
ReplyDeleteI would send postcards to all my friends who are at uni - just to say hello! xx
ReplyDeleteI would send a postcard to my dear Grandma who never fails to write a letter to me on a weekly basis.
ReplyDeleteI'd send a postcard to my mom. Even though she lives near, she helps me out with so many things in my life and it'd be nice to drop her a random little note letting her know how much I appreciate those things.
ReplyDeleteAs the cards are so lovely i think i would have to post them to myself as it is my birthday today, yipee :)
ReplyDeleteWill, first of all I want to say how much I am enjoying your blog-bravo!!
ReplyDeletethe postcards are lovely...I've always had a thing for postcards, in fact when I went college at the American College in London (n '93!) I remember all the clubs and restuarants had free postcard kiosks. I still have many from that time.
I think I'm with your other commenter, I would keep and frame or scrapbook them:) or maybe send one to my mum.
I'd send a postcard to Arsenal's Aaron Ramsay to wish him a speedy recovery from his awful leg injury. Handwriting is a sadly neglected hobby these days!
ReplyDeleteI'm taking part in an international postcard exchange so these would be sent to new friends across the world :)
ReplyDeleteOh how fun - include me please -these are lovely!
ReplyDeletePostcards mean so much more than an email, tweet, buzz, or facebook message and I love when they can brighten someone's day (even the postman delivering it).
ReplyDeleteI would send the pink elephant to my friend in Australia and quote Horton the elephant "I meant what I said and I said what I meant...an elephant's faithful 100 percent"
I'd send a postcard to Twitter friend @SashaKane who is facing yet another cancer attack but despite this her lovely, colorful personality + spirit continue to shine!
ReplyDeleteThank you to everyone who entered! Random.org has decided that the winner is....
ReplyDeleteImageGlow! Congratulations! What a lovely, thoughtful idea to send it to your friend who is suffering from cancer. I hope they make a full recovery.
Email me your address and I'll organise sending the postcards to you.
