I've been redecorating my home office recently so my design eye is continually looking out for relevant spaces to inspire as I continue with the project. Happening upon this simple yet colourful work space led me to thinking about making colour statements and how they don't have to mean a huge overhaul. Taking this space as an example, simple additions of colour through fabric swatches, a vase and the typewriter are all ideal pieces and ways to brighten an otherwise pared-back room. I'm always happy to see Ferm Living's To Do wall sticker, but it's the combination of the yellow typewriter, House Doctor task lamp and rustic wooden table that are inspiring me the most. How do you add colour into your home office, friends?

The most simple statements make the biggest impact! I love wall stickers - great for renters!
ReplyDeleteI agree. An affordable and stylish way to make a temporary statement!
DeleteI need one of those wall stickers. like, today!
ReplyDeleteThere's really something to be said for having fresh flowers on your desk - it totally uplifts the space.
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat that little lift you get some a bunch of fresh blooms! :)
DeleteOn my desk I love to have scraps of fabrics and pictures from different magazines. Colour and pattern of the different fabrics inspire me every day!

ReplyDeleteLove the desk and the yellow.
ReplyDeleteWonderful weekend to you too! hx
I adore that yellow type writer against the wood! Beautiful! x
ReplyDeleteThat yellow typer writer really brings color to your home office. It just pops out. Also the black board is a nice addition. I would love to have that in my office too.

I have done that throughout my home pretty much, light grey on the walls and then the accessories bring in the colours. Its great because you can change the colour pallet any time you get bored and feel like a change. Yellow increases mind stimulation so is a perfect colour for a study :)
ReplyDeleteI'm crazy for that lamp!!! My problem isn't adding color...it's using restraint from too much color!! happy weekend, cutie!
ReplyDeletei love that typewriter, oh my goodness! so perfect. your posts put me in a good mood with all the fun color! love it :)

Be still my heart!
ReplyDeleteIt makes the room!

I like to keep decor to a minimum in a workspace and just use a bit of colour. I love that flowers-typewrite combo. Fresh flowers on a desk just make all the difference.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Friday evening, Will!
I would love a yellow typewriter!
ReplyDeleteHi Will! It's been a while since I've been here ;) NIce to be back and find this AMAZING table here! And the image overall is quite inspiring for a workspace.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you :)
mmmmm I guess I am not that colorful but I do like color... I should make a post about the color in my home... as I am wondering myself sometimes where the color is..
ReplyDeleteWill, I am pretty new to your blog but I have perused/read it "cover to cover" and love it!!! You seem like such an incredibly fun and kind person with an amazing sense of style and, of course, color! Thanks for your great blog!
ReplyDeleteI love your office style and the colours are fab. I work from home 6 days a week and I need zingy, bright colours to keep me energised and creative for my work. Accessories are perfect for this, also bright prints on the wall are great, especially when I am on the phone I just love looking at my prints. I also have a chaise longue upholstered in bright pink with a matching cushion.
ReplyDeleteLovely blog! Really interesting :)
