Five Creative Ideas For Using Wallpaper

1. St Antoine BP 947 | 2. Peony BP 2302 | 3. An assortment | 4. Closet Stripe ST 364 | 5. Brocade BP 3209 - All Farrow & Ball
Picture the scene, it's Tuesday afternoon and I'm craving creative inspiration. After all, Tuesday is just that pesky not-even-middle-of-the-week day, right? So I was really happy when I clicked over to Farrow & Ball and saw their fun and creative suggestions for using wallpaper. Many of these ideas are perfect ways to temporarily add colour and pattern to your home. Perhaps you're a renter who loves wallpaper but you're not allowed to paper the walls? Idea number four - creating a wallpapered lampshade - is a clever and quirky way to use your favourite wallpaper without needing to touch your walls. Short on time? Number one is for you, as it would only take a matter of minutes to cut a length of paper to fit your cutlery drawer. The statement art panel - idea number two - is an affordable way to make a big, dramatic statement in a large space, and the bunting suggestion in number three would be a fun project to do with kids. Finally, if you're looking to blend an unsightly wardrobe or piece of furniture you could paper it in the same pattern as the wall to trick the eye. My favourite idea is the lampshade but which is yours?

  4. The cubpoard doors - I did this with my hallway doors as they are old and bumpy and no amount of paint was going to fix them so we covered them with wallpaper instead that I picked up on a trip to Amsterdam for 5 euros a roll! I rammed 3 rolls into my suitcase and still have 1.5 left to use ... I like the idea of inside the drawers too that looks pretty :)

  5. Love the "Where's the Wardrobe" image....I think I may love the drawer liners more though. Maybe in a vinyl wallpaper so it can be wiped over. I just took the fun away with practicality didn't I. Have a great day.

  18. We used to live in a rented flat and wanted to brighten things up so we built/constructed a feature wall out of wood (about 8ft wide) and wallpapered it. It was surplus to requirements when we moved out but looked great and got a lot of attention.
These are fab ideas (and a bit less extreme!)- loving the lamp and the wardrobe best.
