Thursday's arrival means it's blind date night, so kitchens and their perspective accessory dates are busy prepping themselves for another round of kitchen speed dating - and they're all vying to be a date to your dinner party! The question is: who will get your coveted invite? Couple number one are a multicoloured, ex-city dweller turned country bumpkin duo with a new found love for the simple things in life. The open shelves display their vintage finds curated from city flea markets of years gone by; brightly coloured fabric and accessories reflect their new, softer surroundings. This vibrant and dynamic duo are fizzing with enthusiasm and energy! Up next is kitchen couple number two, who are calmer than their multicoloured counterparts preferring to live a simpler, uncluttered lifestyle. Solid wooden pieces are teamed with retro finds reflecting the couple's comfortable and long lasting relationship. Your final choice is kitchen couple number three. These two are like peas in a pod, their mint hues bonding them from the moment they met. Safe, refreshing and fashionably 'on trend', they'll make for great guests. So, three very different, yet very stylish kitchen couples to choose from - your task is to choose who gets your invite?
Hehe my favorite is the 3rd! Love that minty color!
ReplyDeleteNumber one of course!!! ps. I so hope we can meet up while I am in Europe my friend! It would be wonderful to grab a coffee or something even more delicious together!
ReplyDeleteYes, I would love that! Drop me a line if you make it to London and we can grab a drink!
DeleteLoving the stripy fabric in the first pic! I want it in my kitchen! Love!
ReplyDeleteLoving Kitchen Date Night!! so much fun and if I have to be the 3rd wheel, I will go with couple #3. I love how simple and claim the minty green looks when pairing with creamy white. The organic sensibility of the brick walls add warmth and yet another dimension to the space. The black faucet also caught my eyes ... so my question is: when I am going on this date?
ReplyDeleteThe third is my favourite as well, Tim, so I suggest we join forces for one big dinner party!
DeleteNumber 3!
ReplyDeleteNormally I'd be drawn to number 3... but for some reason I cannot take my eyes off that first kitchen! So bright and fun. Since Halle has arrived, we've been more adventurous (for us) with bringing colour into our home and I'm really enjoying it! :)
ReplyDeletei ADORE your post!!you are talented! You inspire me!!what to say!! i love all kitchens!!!
ReplyDeleteI'd be thrilled with number 3! Although, not all that disappointed with number 2 either :)
ReplyDeleteNumber 3 for me Will! I will never tire of mint, simple as that :)
ReplyDeleteAbbey x
You and me both, Abbey! x
DeleteI'm not actually a huge fan of any of them.... I particularly have to disagree with everyone's love of the first - don't get me wrong, I love colour, but there's something about that fabric covering that says budget.
ReplyDeletePlus - is something like that really practical in a kitchen? It's going to get messy and must be a right pain to clean.
Really not a fan of that white chair in the second one either.
Maybe it's just that I don't think frilly, flowing things have a place within a kitchen.
So therefore, my favourite (and I use that term loosely) has to be number three. I'm not a fan of the mint green but it looks more (to me) like a modern kitchen should look. And that plate does match it very nicely.
Thanks for sharing your views, Mike. Perhaps if the fabric used was able to be washed at a high temperature it could work on a practical basis. Personally, I think it would be ideal for using in a less intensively used area of the kitchen, such as a unit for storage away from the main activity area of preparing meals etc.
DeleteI love mint hues because they are fresh but not too cold, and feel suitable all round around - it's my favourite of the three!
Perhaps that would make the idea more practical, but still, it seems like more effort than it's worth to have to remove the fabric, stick it in the washing machine, dry it, and reattach it. When with a normal cupboard you'd just have to wipe it down.
DeleteNot that this even matters because it still doesn't change the fact I just don't like it! To me, using fabric in place of cupboard fronts says 'we can't afford fronts for our cupboards'.
Looks very student-houseesque.
Though it seems I'm alone in my opinions!
I get what you're saying about the mint - it is quite nice, but it's just not me...
The people in No 1 are embracing the simple things in life. Hence their rustic country style kitchen with gorgeous fabric skirt. I don't think it looks cheap, but if it is at least it can be changed over without stressing about how much it cost!!! This is by far the best kitchen, it shows their fun personality. Everything doesn't need to be 'just so' when you simplify your life.....
DeleteVery nice blog! thanks for sharing the blog.I wish you to post the new updates regularly

#3- Love that plate!
ReplyDeleteI actually have the glasses in kitchen no2 so I guess that's me! I seem to be the only one so far to pick no2 so not sure if that means there'll be no dinner party invites coming my way…! I love the other two kitchens too, love the pops of colour against white in light and airy rooms.
ReplyDeleteAaaah I loved this post! It’s an easy choice for me, I have got to pick no. 3! Although I love mint green, I would be sceptical about painting my kitchen that colour but the kitchen in that picture just works! And then you threw that gorgeous plate into the mix and it was game over for me!
ReplyDeleteNo. 3 ... and I will flirt like I have never flirted before!
ReplyDeleteI adore one and three. Great post Will.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Cute...love 3! Plus it's a magic number.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh I want those cups in number 2! Where do I get them?! As for your question, I think I like 3 the best - that kitchen is adorable.
