'Provisions for the home', the accompanying strap line for San Francisco-based March Pantry, perfectly embodies the ethos of the inviting, homely and comforting store that lies inside. Industrial elements such as metal and wood furniture and subway tiles sit comfortably alongside pared-back ceramics and tactile linens, creating an effortlessly stylish vibe to the space. You can see how much effort has gone into the visual merchandising yet it doesn't feel forced or contrived - a feat that's certainly not easy to achieve! I like how the rustic baskets add texture to the white shelving and the sophisticated packaging that acorns the sleek black bottles of olive oil would certainly be a weekly staple for me if I lived in the city. The space has achieved the delicate balance between being industrial not harsh and airy not stark. I'd just love to recreate a kitchen space at home like this, wouldn't you? What's inspiring you about March? Have you been? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Me too - we had an AGA in our kitchen growing up... so cosy. x
DeleteHehe, this could even be my dream kitchen! Or, I'd definitely choose these things you suggest to make one (like these tea towels- brilliant!)
ReplyDeleteLoved the all white and raw wood. Nice to see as I am working on this look at Anchor Cottage. The shop tour made me realize I have too much stuff in my shop to make the clean fresh look. Oh well(-:

I didn't think after seeing Igor's blog today that my kitchen envy would continue to reach such heights. It's the glass display cabinets teamed with the agar that i love.

ReplyDeleteOh wow. What I would not GIVE for a store like that near me. We're too small town. If I had half a brain (and any real interest in shop ownership), I'd open one of my own. I love how the wood just warms the place up. I could totally lose my mind in there!
ReplyDeleteI'm adding this shop to my SF list. We're heading down there late March, so thanks for the heads up Will!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I am in love from the first sight with AGA!. I was newer thinking of glass cabinets in my dream kitchen, obviously I should! I love your blog, Will, for being stylish up to the last word. It is a great pleasure to read it.
ReplyDeleteHow could I have missed this?!? I live in San Francisco and have never even heard of March. Will be heading there tomorrow! Thanks for posting this! :) The place looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteSo stylish, love this store's displays and industrial vibe! The butcher block island is my favorite!
