House Beautiful | Interior design by Ruthie Sommers | Photography by Don Freeman
Oh boy, I've only gone and fallen head over heels in love with this divine home in Long Island, NY. The perfect mix of colour and calm, the home illustrates how to strike a balance with different hues. From the moment I set eyes on the sky blue (Blue Seafoam by Benjamin Moore) I knew I was in for a treat as I clicked through the images over on House Beautiful. The owners Margot Brunelle Fooshee and her husband preserved the 18th century floorboard by sanding and waxing them, adding vintage touches such as old pendant lights to complement them. Zinc countertops and reclaimed chairs painted an upbeat, sunshine yellow hue complete the kitchen. Personally I love how the master bedroom has a simple, pared back feel that's bathed in natural light; an oasis of calm from the energising hues throughout the rest of the house. What do you like about this home?
Everything! I'll take it! :)
