For some folks it takes a hit of something strong (and illegal!) to get them high. For me? Holiday decorating. No joke, to say I totally love it would be an understatement. That's not to say I'm one of the kooky types who keeps their decorations up all year long or turns their house into the Blackpool illuminations come September! Far from it: my first decorations go up on the first of December and come down after New Years Eve. That said, as soon as Halloween has past, I like to spend November sourcing the market for festive ideas and great value buys to add to my collection. I find it so exciting to wonder my favourite high street stores, independent market sellers and festive stalls to see their collections - and the imaginative ways they choose to display them. When I was younger we decorated the family cottage with decorations handed down from generations well before my time, but each year we added a few new ornaments to the ensemble. This year, I know I'll be adding something to my holiday arsenal from
West Elm. The problem is, what to choose? Perhaps I'll go for the
Hearts for Haiti Ornaments to hang on my tree, or maybe a dash of modern festivity with a
Lacquered Elf, or even a graceful
Papier-Mache Reindeer? It's decision time: what would you pick from
West Elm to add to your holiday decorating collection?
I was just pinning some of their holiday stuff today! I am in love because it screams holidays in a way that doesn't feel overpoweringly Christmas, which I love! I am always looking for a way to expand upon the red and green. Great post!
ReplyDeleteI love the modern santa collection! So cute. West Elm, in general, has great stuff.

Love it all! Love the star created from decorations. My kind of holiday decor!
ReplyDeleteI love all the brightly coloured christmas decorations - so gorgeous! Also the chalk board candles are a really fun idea!
ReplyDelete@Megan - So with you on this. I sometimes feel guilty spending on expensive holiday decor, but the great thing with their range is that a) it's already good value and b) lots of pieces would work all year round, like the owls!
ReplyDelete@MichaelaRae - Isn't it darling?! Cute.com for sure!
@Blog About Design - Yep, another plus for sure!
@Hannah - I often use visual merchandising ideas I see in stores to inspire my decorating at home for the holidays. The star made of ornaments is really fun.
@Rachel - The colourful Christmas decoratings are great - so much more interesting than the standard red and gold that comes out year after year!
I LOVE the snow globes!!!
ReplyDeleteThey´re absolutely gorgeous.
Heavenly for someone who adores
reindeers and owls.. : )
That first phto makes my heart sing, I want to live there too! :) Loving all the deer too.
ReplyDelete@Banebakken - The snow globes are all kinds of awesome. I'd pair them with the laqcuered elf, I think. P.S. I'm addicted to buying owls!
ReplyDelete@Hoola Tallulah - The first space is a great take on holiday; super colourful but not ott Christmas.
Oh this just isn't fair! There is no way I can choose! Love all the baubles, the cute plates, the natural wooden trees...colour and christmas overload! x

ReplyDeleteIn my humble opinion, you of anyone I have ever met have the absolutely best eye for little decorative things. And I'm happy I've found you.
Thank you.
@littletree - Their dinnerware and serveware offering has this colour addict as high as a kite!
ReplyDelete@Igor - Sorry! Maybe I should add a Seriously Tempting warning before these posts?! ;)
@Rachie - Those reindeer are stylish and ethical as they are part of the Handmade in Haiti collection.
