The folks over at John Lewis have curated two key contemporary trends for the 2011 autumn/winter season: Refined Puritan and Retro Reborn. The puritan trend has a pared back feel, detailing a muted colour palette with a utilitarian feel. Tactile, natural elements are mixed in with understated checks and stripes for pattern. The second main trend, Retro Reborn, is a more light-hearted and graphic assortment of products. The urban chic range contains plenty of block colour which gives the pieces a clean and retro feel. Of course, I do love the Reborn range, especially those numeric canisters and the retro tea towels. Which of these two John Lewis homeware trends do you like best?

So much to love, but I was instantly drawn to the retro look. Adore the gorgeous prints and cushions, all very lovely xx
ReplyDeletei like them both, but if i had to pick for our house it'd be the first. do you know the source for the wallpaper in the refined puritan desk image? its lovely
ReplyDeletelove both looks! and you're right, the typography for the Reborn style is fantastic :)
ReplyDeleteI like them both - they look like something different and something new, they don't look like a current look reinvented. I can't pick what it is but I really think like this style.
ReplyDeleteThese are both great! While I'm most drawn to the first one, the reborn has some really great pieces :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, folks!
ReplyDelete@Julia - Yes, you should be able to buy that wallpaper from John Lewis as 99% of what you see here is stocked in their stores. Here's the link to their wallpaper page:

Reborn for me. I'm a sucker for bright colours and typography.
ReplyDeleteI really like Refined Purtian. I would love to have that little desk and the great wallpaper in my hall, where I have my "computer corner". (My hall takes up so many square meters of my apartement = I have to use it for more than just entrance and passage to the other rooms. I have my book shelfs with my beloved books there too.)
ReplyDeleteI love both but I definitly prefer the retro reborn collection, I did my own post a little while ago here x http://littletree-blog.blogspot.com/2011/09/littletree-lovesjohn-lewis-retro-reborn.html
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful but the typography does it for me!
ReplyDeletereally different looks, somehow I'm really drawn to the colorful one!
ReplyDeletethanks! i found it...mayflower in clementine
ReplyDeleteBoth are pretty awesome but I'm leaning toward the Refined Puritan!! That pendant makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous fall find - if I had my druthers, I'd be Reborn and a Refined Puritan!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I love more here, your actual picks or the way you put this whole post together!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I love the textiles and colours here. I especially love that red glass desk! I wants!
