Last week I decided my living room needed a little pick me up. So out came Mr. Bazaar's paint brushes and soon my walls were graced in Farrow & Ball's 'Cook's Blue'. This past Saturday I found the packed-full-of-character Union Jack flag at a local flea market that dates back to World War I. Everytime I look at it I can't help but think of how many homes it has graced or special occasions it has been waved in celebratation at. I'm hunting for a frame at the moment as I want to be sure I preserve it as well as I can. Here you can also see some of the soft furnashings I've made recently: a candy stripe cushion that I made out of a vintage sheet I picked up a few months back at the flea, and a rectangular pillow made with some new checked fabric. I added the vintage solider's cushion into the mix because I felt it tied in well with the Union Jack, both in colour and in theme. I'm pleased with how the space is coming together; what do you think, friends?
Gorgeous, gorgeous choice of color! The blue instantly wakes me up and cheers me on! I can imagine how you can be continuously inspired in your living room.
ReplyDeletePLUS that candy stripe cushion is simply darling!
So very awesome! It's bright, cheery, at once modern and classic, but also very British. In other words, it's completely you.
