Last week I decided my living room needed a little pick me up. So out came Mr. Bazaar's paint brushes and soon my walls were graced in Farrow & Ball's 'Cook's Blue'. This past Saturday I found the packed-full-of-character Union Jack flag at a local flea market that dates back to World War I. Everytime I look at it I can't help but think of how many homes it has graced or special occasions it has been waved in celebratation at. I'm hunting for a frame at the moment as I want to be sure I preserve it as well as I can. Here you can also see some of the soft furnashings I've made recently: a candy stripe cushion that I made out of a vintage sheet I picked up a few months back at the flea, and a rectangular pillow made with some new checked fabric. I added the vintage solider's cushion into the mix because I felt it tied in well with the Union Jack, both in colour and in theme. I'm pleased with how the space is coming together; what do you think, friends?
