Inside Mr. Bazaar's Living Room

Photos by Will Taylor
Last week I decided my living room needed a little pick me up. So out came Mr. Bazaar's paint brushes and soon my walls were graced in Farrow & Ball's 'Cook's Blue'. This past Saturday I found the packed-full-of-character Union Jack flag at a local flea market that dates back to World War I. Everytime I look at it I can't help but think of how many homes it has graced or special occasions it has been waved in celebratation at. I'm hunting for a frame at the moment as I want to be sure I preserve it as well as I can. Here you can also see some of the soft furnashings I've made recently: a candy stripe cushion that I made out of a vintage sheet I picked up a few months back at the flea, and a rectangular pillow made with some new checked fabric. I added the vintage solider's cushion into the mix because I felt it tied in well with the Union Jack, both in colour and in theme. I'm pleased with how the space is coming together; what do you think, friends?

Mr. Bazaar's Painting and Lighting Update!

1 | 2 via 3
On Monday I decided my living room needed an extra dash of colourful playfulness, so I hotfooted it down to Farrow & Ball and picked out their 'Cook's Blue' colour. Now the painting is complete I'm searching out other pieces to go with the new colour. I've had these Aperture pendants for some time now but they're not really working with the new, more nautical-inspired look. So, I'm going to swap them out for these fisherman-inspired pendants instead. I'm really looking forward to hanging them in the space, especially because I have some great Edison-style bulbs to use, too. What have you bought for the home that's excited you recently?
