I often write about my love for bright hues, simply because I find that such spaces inspire me more reguarly. That said, my core design ethos is about people embracing colour - pastels or brights - and using it to create an interesting space. This home does just that: Sultry dark hues create a dramatic yet all the while welcoming space where vintage and modern pieces marry seamlessly. Deep, well stocked, open units in the kitchen create a lived in feel that softens the stained wood surfaces and moody blackboard wall. The living room exercises a restrained country-rustic look, with the introduction of a venitian red armchair and right of centre pendant light preventing the look being too formal. And as for that final bedroom, well, I could do with a winter weekend cosied up in there with a good book. Notice how the stripes in the bedding are subtly echoed in the bed skirt - nice touch. What do you like about this home?
I love how the mix of rustic and vintage makes the home feel so lived-in, warm and cozy. Love the floors, ceilings and the country style light fixtures throughout this home!

Love this house, comfy with nice vintage and rustic elements. Especially like all the pendant lights.
ReplyDeleteI love the herbs and greenery in the kitchen against the chalkboard wall. If I can ever afford my own place I want a kitchen with these elements!
ReplyDeleteThat kitchen is just great! I love those dark blackboard paint walls.. although I am posting a bright white place myself at this moment ;)
ReplyDeleteI like it, I think for me I need a bit more of an eclectic look but this home is really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHello mr!
ReplyDeleteI love the dark matte floors against the creamy white - it really anchors the rooms.
Though chalk board walls have been painted across the world of interiors for a while now, I still love them. And I still get that 'French bistro' feel when I see them.
Your de-construction of the rooms is great - thank you for that and for all the great sources.
Have a brilliant rest of the week.
Hugs
xx C
Every time that I think to myself that there could not possibly be a more "me" house, you always seem to unearth yet another that tops the last.
