What do Kate Spade, Linda and Harriet, Jonathan Adler and ABCD Designs all have in common? They each design awesome stationery that's what! I admire each and every part of their creative paper work because fine stationery is so lovely, and for me I treasure a card much more than a present. So why am I banging on about stationery? Well, Mr. Boddington is another fine stationery designer working out of New York City and his studio is enough to make the coolest card in the pack weak at the knees. Guys, check this place OUT! Such a delight from whatever angle you look at it. First up there's the desk, a lovely bureau-style piece (find similar at Three Potato Four and The Peanut Vendor) with a vintage typewriter and globe to complete the look. Plus, look closely and you'll spy copies of our favourite shelter mag. Anyone who drinks tea out of a bright orange tea cup and reads Domino is a dude! Later on there's more warm wood vintage finds, typewriters and a Keep Calm Gallery print that works well in this unusual space. Finally, that view? Yeah, I died a little bit too.

STUNNING!!! You forgot to mention the vintage suitcase under the desk, what a cozy detail! I loved the studio, that globe + typewriters are to die for!
ReplyDeleteThis is just what my dream looks like, all those shelves and cards :)
ReplyDeletelove it, especially the second shoot!
ReplyDeleteThat filing cabinet in the last pic is pretty spesh too!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful! I love good stationary and try and write letters whenever I can. I remember this fabulous set of boxed stationary I bought on my first trip to Paris in 1981, by Pierre Cardin. The envelopes and paper was such fabulous quality, and each envelope was lined in a different colour.
ReplyDeleteWow, what an office! I have never heard of Mr. Boddington before, so this was a real treat! I love seeing the unique ways creative people design their offices.
ReplyDeleteOh, I can't wait to check them out... I love how "lived in" their studio looks!

Here's a dirty little secret: I am over Bell'Invito sales and share the same client base as Mr. Boddington. However- I think I'm just as happy when customers end up going with them as when they chose us because I am such a fan! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this peek at their office. :)
Stationary heaven! Love!

Yeah! We all love Mr. Boddington's studio, but then again, how could we not? It's so charming!
ReplyDeleteTommy - Paper is my total vice!
Beth - Thanks hun, I was really happy to see it! x
Hannah - I'm so pleased you managed to go out and pick up a copy of Living Etc following the review. I love seeing people support interiors mags because I'd be so sad if any more of them closed.
I love receiving a nice card in the mail...it means so much more than a text message or email. How I wish more ppl still wrote letters and cards!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of when I moved to NY and how I would write my family/friends back home. They still have my letters and I still have their letters. Good memories! Great post.
