For years I've been left frustrated when shopping for small kitchen appliances. You know the ones I mean: those appliances that resemble a lump of steel or have a cheap white finish. So you can imagine Mr. Bazaar's delight when he happened upon the Kenwood kMix range of kitchen electricals, a collection of colour block brights for your kitchen that could easily have been commissioned by Mr. B himself! (Also check out their Barcelona food mixer - talk about love at first sight!) The moment I saw the range I knew it contained ideal pieces to use as accent pieces to a pared back or simple colour palette. Take the first kitchen as an example, where tomato red accents have been used across the electricals and utensils to add interest and warmth to the otherwise clinical and industrial space. By sticking to one accent colour the resulting scheme feels consistent and visually balanced. Yet don't be fooled by these clever brights because they earn their keep beyond a standard white kitchen, as seen in the second kitchen unit where pink and orange accent pieces create a sophisticated yet playful palette. For my Bright.Bazaar kitchen I'm opting for the yellow colourway but which colour would you pick to brighten your kitchen, friends?

I love the look of a little color pop in the kitchen. That orange and pink version is pretty cute. I've been on a bit of a coral and turquoise kick, but I seem to always pick up yellow things too.

I think there's only one description for people like for us, Jaclyn... colour addicts! ;)
DeleteAlways drawn to a pop of pink...but I do love yellow in a kitchen.
ReplyDeleteThat is one beautiful kitchen,
ReplyDeleteI love a white kitchen with pops of red, yellow, and orange.
I agree, Ann. I think the white subway tile is the perfect background to layer in colourful accessories.
DeleteLoving orange, really loving it with pink and green/mint. Not sure where the love has come from but it draws me in every time.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really stylish range. We bought my sister the cake mixer recently for her birthday. As for colour options, I can never go past pink! Have a great weekend Will :)

Ok, I thought Kitchen Aid was as bright as a mixer could get. But that Barcelona mixer takes the cake (pun intended). Happy weekend to you.
ReplyDeleteThis made me giggle! :)
DeleteIt’s hard to find knowledgeable writers on this topic, but you seem like you know what you’re talking about! Thanks.

Love this post! And love the first image. I love the industrial (even lab like) style, I love white and grey and materials like metal, brick, and wood. And since red is my favourite colour, it's pretty perfect for my taste ... Maybe just a bit more wood for extra warmth :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I think you are giving very good advice about colourful household items. "By sticking to one accent colour the resulting scheme feels consistent and visually balanced. Yet don't be fooled by these clever brights because they earn their keep beyond a standard white kitchen..." Yes!!!
There's nothing like a white kitchen with pops of color to brighten one's day! Love the Barcelona food mixer! Aptly named too! :)
ReplyDeleteI have my Kitchen aid mixer in bright green and always thought that the best Christmas present ever.I would lbve to have more things like that in that citrussey green- so cheerful!
ReplyDeleteWhen we lived in Canada for a few months in 2009 I had a pink Kitchen Aid food processor and it was AWESOME. I still miss it.
ReplyDeleteAll the red appliances in the first photo look so pretty, the yellow Kenwood items are fabulous and I also love everything in the last photo so I'm torn. I can't decide.
Orange for sure. My latest favorite color combo is orange and grey.
ReplyDeleteI have the yellow kettle and the green toaster, green looks different though, I don't know why. I also have pink Smeg fridge and Dolce Gusto Agatha Ruiz De La Prada (dotty one) coffee machine. I had a crush on Francis Francis espresso machine but I used to have Dolce Gusto before and I really liked how easy it was to get a cup of latte and cappuccino and reviews wasn't very nice about Francis Francis. So I did my research and found these limited edition Dolce Gustos. I'm looking forward to buy my own house and get an all white kitchen. I think all those colours would look amazing on a white background.
ReplyDeleteLove the pops of color against a white kitchen, I would love cobalt and yellow!
ReplyDeleteLove these! I'd have a tough time choosing between the blue and the green...or maybe it would be yellow or red...love them all! ~Lily
ReplyDeletelove the pop-up graphic Will! so much fun and funny how I was just reading this german catalog (which I didn't understand a word) but saw these Kenwood products!! I love that yellow toaster!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I love yellow to always brighten my day every time I cook.
ReplyDeletethanks for the ideas.
