Trend: Kitchen Pastels

Lifestyles: Jme | Market Picks: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6
Pastels are experiencing a renaissance of sorts in the world of interiors, with many brands - both High Street and luxury - adding more than a gentle nod to the soft colourful shades in their current collections. As such sorbet hues are no longer tied to children's bedrooms, instead they are claiming a stake across products for living and dining as well. That said, it's the kitchen where the trend is most noticeable this season and, potentially, one of the easiest spaces to work the sweet as sugar shades. You could opt for sky blue walls with dusty pink accent in your tablecloth, or swap out the pink hue for a primrose yellow to take off the feminine edge. Have you decorated with pastel hues? How do you like to decorate with these shades?

  1. I love the pastels popped against a stronger shade. It appears to make the pastel the focal even though it is quietly sitting there looking calm. Great combo's.

  5. My space went through a transformation this winter and now mostly in neutral with pastel yellow. With spring in mind, I'm adding pastel coral into the mix and the balcony will be dressed in pastel blue.

To funk up the pastel blue outdoor living space, I'm considering a mod black and white striped carpet.

Will see how all these come together!

  8. I love the vintage feeling they evoke but not sure I would want pastels in my own kitchen. I think I'm drawn to stronger colours together with a more neutral palette. Have a happy weekend Will!x

  12. I love the vintage feel of those colours! Our bedroom is painted pastel blue and I think it's a very easy shade to go with different styles and lots of other colours.
