When it comes to the home office I'm always on the lookout for new ways to make the space more productive and inspiring. These three different spaces are great examples of how to add your personality to a space to make a great statement whilst maintaining a workable environment. The first, Colourful Industrial, shows how you can add warmth and depth to a rustic look with the addition of a single bright hue. I love how the hot red colour draws the eye to interesting vignettes created from necessary office stationery - and how great are those wire baskets on the wall?! The second space, Graphic Stripe, demonstrates how a classic black and white stripe can create a sophisticated and timeless statement in a light and airy room. Here it's best to let the stripes do the talking and keep the rest of the scheme simple yet functional. Finally, Temporary Colour, is a perfect solution for renters who are looking to add colour, personality and storage with minimal lasting effect to the space. Multiple colour block box files add all of these three elements, coming together to create a quick and easy statement feature with no lasting effect - ideal! My vote goes for Colourful Industrial, but which space gets your vote?
I like the bold statement of the graphic black + white stripes but they're all great!
ReplyDeleteNumber one is totally my style! I love the rustic wooden desk that is placed in the middle of the office.
ReplyDeleteI'd choose three! You know how much I love colorful boxes & supplies :)
ReplyDeleteThere are few changes I'd make for me, but it's just to suit my desires.. like.. Switching to a comfier chair, add a zebra pillow ( addicted - bad me ) & bright up the cold table with some pretty storage vases... But ok..still my favorite, even if I'm totally in love with the stripes from the second :)
Much love, Xo

Its got to be the graphic stripe it gets me everytime! But I do like the idea of the coloured files on shelves, such a simple idea but its striking enmasse
ReplyDeleteColorful Industrial friend! Im all about mixing things up, polished and rustic, wood and metallic, these are my favorite things. My goal for 2012 is to have my own home office.

I'm quite pleased with the ifonrmation in this post.nice and useful!
thank you!
I like the first - industrial+color: the old wood makes the space so cozy and worm, color kicks your productivity and creativeness(it is so aesthetically balanced as well!). In my current situation creating my own home office I definitely go for the second - white+bold graphics and a touch of subtle hue. In some way all of these three are great!
ReplyDeleteColourful industrial is my fav too...thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThey're all fun! I think I like #3 since it adds a good punch of colour but can easily be switched out for something different
ReplyDeletehey Will... do you know what the desk/table in number two is? totes rolling with the stipes but LOVE the herringbone... Gavin
ReplyDeleteI love the Ferm Living office!
ReplyDeleteObviously i love the stripe but I also love the top one too. I want to bring a few more warm wooden tones to our office - it needs more styling!

I will take #1 :-)
ReplyDeleteNumber 1-it has a warmth to it and is visually interesting. When can you swing by to install it?
ReplyDeleteOh, the first one with reds is perfect :)
ReplyDeleteI love these pops of color! I am really feeling inspired to bring a little color in to my apartment this spring. We'll see if I actually make it happen!
ReplyDeleteI fell flat and HARD for that striped wall office! the black window frame, the woven basket holding rolls and the herringbone table..yes yes and yes!! Now if only I could keep this tidy! thanks for sharing Will
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting these, Will. Our study is known as the Room of Slight Despair because it's just the place that everything gets thrown when we have guests around! It also trebles up as my crafty area and our spare room. In 2 1/2 years, I have not found anything to do with it and had almost given up. But I've gotten some great ideas and am feeling really inspired to tackle it, especially by number 1 and number 3!
ReplyDeleteOh, Dubs! Wire baskets, stripes, and organization?! Woooo!
ReplyDeleteThat Herringbone parquet desk is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the Industrial office space! I think I need those colorful trunks. Thanks B.B!
ReplyDeleteI love the striped office space and there are some gorgeous bits in no 1 too.
ReplyDeleteI love all of these looks! I'm in the midst of trying to narrow down a design plan for my new space where I'll be teaching DIY workshops but I can't seem to decide. I love so many different looks!
