When it comes to decorating a bedroom, we often think about the sheets, the bedding, the lighting, but more often than not, it's the headboard that steals the show. Deciding on a look or style for a headboard is a very personal choice and will vary depending on whether it's the master or the guest room - you might want to be more daring in a space you don't have to live in everyday. These three looks range from the sophisticated and classic to the daring and quirky. If you want to have a little fun with a guest bedroom, why not draw a headboard onto a blackboard panel, framed with a vintage thrift find? Then in your master suite you can go down a more grown-up route: achieve a glamorous look with an ornate headboard upholstered in silk. What tips do you have for making a feature out of a headboard?

All of these are fabulous! I've been dying to go the Anthro route in our bedroom, but am worried the chalk dust might be too much. If only I had a guest room... :)

Will- you always find the most fabulous things! I've never seen anything like the first picture, but I actually really love it. The yellow one is to die for, too. I just love the unexpectedness of it!
ReplyDeleteWow that yellow headboard is a killer!

Yes, the first one would be fun in the guest room. I wonder what messages would be left by the visitors!
ReplyDeleteI personally love plush headboards. So comfy when reading.

The first, chalkboard one looks very cute, but I do not think it could be functional.
ReplyDeleteOkay I am totally inspired. Love the color schemes and examples you used!
ReplyDeleteStunning. Love the first one although i'm not that brave! xo
ReplyDeleteLoving the romantic glamour...no surprise there. ;)
ReplyDeleteSo great, have never seen any of these before! Headboards are such a great way of expressing style and creativity as you have so beautifully shown here!
ReplyDeleteI love all 3 options! I have been trying to figure out how to upholster a headboard like the one in the last photo, on my own, but I might leave that to the pros!
ReplyDeleteI think headboards should be mandatory in every bedroom!!! They are one of my latest obsessions! :-) Now if only I could have a headboard to match my every mood....mmmm that would be nice!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!!

in L O V E with the yellow headboard! Thanks for adding a little spice to my life ... I fly a little on the neutral nancy side, so I always come here to brighten my day ... and my thinking ... much love.
ReplyDeletefun post! thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAll three of those bedrooms tickle my belly. I keep wanting to be more bold in ours but something about appeal of soft romance holds me back. (I do have a yellow duvet in the guest room though!)
ReplyDeletethe headboard/ blackboard idea is super cool, but I agree with Bethany, the chalk dust kills it for me... Not really relevant but I really like the cushions and bedspread in picture 1.
ReplyDeleteOHH quilt in #1....I think i may need to make something like that!!!
ReplyDeleteWill, have I mentioned that I LOVE your style?! The silky yellow headboard is bold and simply oozing glam. Stunning!
ReplyDeleteThat gorgeous confection of silk still gets me every single time! And don't even get me started on the double headboard (it might be a new favorite!).
