This month's issue of Elle Decoration is so jam-packed with ideas, you would be forgiven for feeling a little unsure of where to start by the turn of the last page. I found myself tearing page after page - and I've not done that for quite some time. February's features are inspired yet accessible - a good balance for this more high end title. Inside you'll find: 21 easy ways to revamp your kitchen; decorating with classic whites with a citrus twist; a tour of Swedish textiles designer Lotta Jansdotter's New York apartment; the eclectic Brighton home of artist Jayne Neale; a guide to displaying the things you love and, of course, an array of breathtaking homes - my favourites being a dramatic white apartment in Munich and a character-filled New York warehouse space. Dive in and tell me what's stealing your heart!

White kitchens really seem to be the trend right now. I love the use of the cow hide in the dining table...looks gorgeous. You'll have to check out madebygirl's blog. She posted pics of her new home, and she too has a white kitchen...AND uses a cow hide in her dining room...check it out.
ReplyDeleteCripes - that sunny lemon yellow teamed with the rustic timbers is grabbing my heart by the strings! I reckon this publication is one of the best all-time mags out there. I love their eclectic mix. Oh and thank you for dropping in to visit my blog yesterday - lovely to see such global hopping between blogs - fun, isn't it?
ReplyDeletewholeheartedly agree on the white and citrus - so refreshing! bring on spring!

I really love the touches of yellow. It's such a strong, bold color you don't need but of it to make a huge impact. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLOVING the yellow and rusticness!! Can't wait to read this issue!

I love the shelf of wellingtons!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit here, very lovely blog! :)
Love that shot of the white plates and colour pop of the lemon!
ReplyDeleteAs hard as it was to choose I think the pops of yellow against white are perfection for spring!
ReplyDeleteLove those clean white chairs and the desk lamp - very fresh for spring. And loving that oversized light fitting - Is it a paper one do you think? xx
ReplyDeleteVirginia Blue - yes, it's super fun!
ReplyDeleteRachie - I think it's paper - you can buy similar from Habitat or IKEA. Try searching for the Boule Japonaise pendant on Habitat's site, as I'm pretty sure they sell a medium to large size for about five pounds.
really inspiring pictures!
ReplyDeleteAah thanks sweetie - you are so helpful! Randomly John refuses to have the paper ones - not sure why i think its one of his pet hates but i have to concede something ;-) xxx
ReplyDeleteThat chair in the opening spread is to die for. I think it's the exact reading chair & ottoman I've been looking for. I'll have to buy the issue to get more info.
ReplyDeleteKristin - Isn't it lovely? It makes for a perfect reading nook.
ReplyDeleteThe chair and stool in the opener are both from Laura Ashley. I checked their international wesbite and this page tells you were you can buy their furniture in America: http://tinyurl.com/62nboty
looks like I need to pick this one up! I love your magazine reviews, because I often enjoy overseas shelter pubs more, just never know which months are more spot on! I love it when Elle does some more affordable choices! Great post!
ReplyDeleteThey knock it out of the park every time! It looks like another one I need to go pick up right away!
ReplyDeletethose patches of yellow are so delicious!
ReplyDeletemmmm... yum. I need more yellow in my life.
ReplyDeleteThose wellie-cubbies are beyond.
Oh oh!!! I have white bed sheets and a bright citrus lamp on my bedside table! I feel so 'in' right now. Please can I have a prize for being your 984th follower? So much more original that 1000th... ahem :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! My hubs would love that art wall of movie posters!

The Wellies storage + doggie bed is just the best! So chic and cozy at once!
ReplyDeleteThat dog bed/storage cabinet is so charming. Love!!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing! I love reading magazines from different countries! I bought a Vogue Korea when I was in Seoul this past summer and was so disappointed I couldn't read it (duh, it was in Korean hahaha) but the pictures sure were pretty!
ReplyDeleteRoxy - I do the exact same thing when I go on holiday - buy all their shelter and men's fashion titles!
ReplyDeleteLove the last shot of the NYC apt. The stairs are very cool, somewhat like a fire escape, indicative of big city living.
