It seems crates are enjoying their moment in the spotlight; their en vogue status shows no sign of waining. Will they have the staying power of the chevron or the stripe? Well, who knows? One thing's for sure, I'm totally buying into this rustic, quirky, farmhouse-meets-loft style of decorating. I've pulled together various different ways of using crates, from office storage to shed chic, demonstrating their impressive versatility. Do you have any ideas for using crates to decorate?

ReplyDeleteThose jars look awesome. Totally something Will would have in his country house.
Love all these images. I've been drawn to all the vintage crates I've seen on Etsy lately.
ReplyDeleteYes arent they great! I have wooden 'wine crates/boxes' to hold toys in my kids' playroom.
ReplyDeleteFirst met by a bit of controversy by some, they have turned out to be a quirky and successful touch.
Some are left in their original form (just sanded back a little), and some have been painted white. You can still see the Winemaker's shield and name embossed under the paint. I love them!
Ok - am off to bed so pleas stop making it so difficult to leave my computer..! :)

ReplyDeletei heart crates! I used a bunch of vintage crates we collected to decorate our wedding reception and i've got to show this post to Chris to convince him to use them in the house. But they will not stack well on carpet. Boo.
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness! You and I are best friends now, which is my way of telling you I am following you now :)
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear your thoughts on using crates when decorating, guys! I'm loving those coloured ones.
