Prop Stylist: Scott Horne

I've always been interested in the extras. You know, the little things in life. When I go clothes shopping I go straight to the accessories section and similarly with home stores, where I tend to bypass the furniture floor (clearly I head back after!) opting for the lighting, ceramics or textiles areas first. The ability to change up the feel of a room with a flutter of new accessories is considerable. Switching the lampshade on your reading lamp or alternating your pillow covers can inject new life into a scheme with little outlay or effort. That's why I'm so impressed by the work of New York City-based Prop Stylist Scott Horne. His portfolio demonstrates an excellent attention to detail, whilst his ability to bring colour into a space is inspired. Not only does he sprinkle his styling sparkle in interiors, he kinda rocks food styling as well. Check this dude out!

  6. I'm happy that I'm not the only one who goes straight to the accessories, and I'm the same way at home stores. I went months with plenty of little extras for my living room and yet had no sofa. Fabulous post on Scott Horne!

I so know what you mean with heading straight for the accessories. I do the same. I find that working 'backwards' with an outfit or decor is so much fun. I am totally conceptual in my way of dreaming but always need to spice it up with yummy accessories and 'bits'.. :)

Love Scott's work and will follow the link you so kindly provided. Thank you. x

Thanks also for your sweet comment over at my corner just now. It's nice to be back and I've missed you too. Love it here!!

I'm a blogger as well, about the world of art, but my history is in interior design and fashion. I love to hear what people are saying! Hope we get to see more of each other in the future.

Oh, and I think you will be happy to hear that my artwork is almost always bright!
