I love this time of year; the summer sales are nearly over and so the stores start to invest in their visual merchandising to highlight their new collections. Habitat's doing just this as I write; the first pieces from their autumn/winter range launched online on Monday and more is being added every day. Having worked for the brand as a Sales Associate during my university days I remember the effort we would put in to getting our store looking top dollar for each season (think: 2am finishes after laying floor tiles for our Christmas set up in 2006!), so I appreciate it when stores put time and effort into their visual merchandising. After all, this - along with great product assortments and good service - is what makes a retail experience stand out from the crowd. Later today, I'm going to a preview of their Christmas 2010 collection, 'Footprints through the Forest', so now seems the perfect time to share some of my picks from their autumn/winter collection. You can put money on one of their Persia lampshades and Richard the Lion being in my new apartment before the month is out! What pieces do you like from their new range?

ReplyDeleteMmmm some lovely things there, loving the patterns and colours! Peacocks are everywhere at the moment. I shall have to pop in to the store soon :-)
ReplyDeleteI totally love the peacock patterns in this collection. The colors are amazing, that lampshade from the 1st picture is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThese are all lovely! I want that circle rug for my baby's room. I love all the colours!
ReplyDeleteI think I found my new fav shop!! Always great picks from you... Now to find out if they ship to the states!! I've got my eye on a few of these items. Thanks Will!!
ReplyDeleteI have been hearing about Habitat a lot lately! Why can't they be in Canada?? I love that drum shade pendant light!
ReplyDeleteI've never been in a Habitat store. Like Shannon said, we don't have them here in Canada.
ReplyDeleteI'm sad you are leaving summer behind so quickly, but all good things come to an end, I know...at least the Habitat collections are still looking quite light and airy (and not all dark browns and reds and typical fall colors), so that is good.
Aww, also sad we don't have one in Canada :(
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure Richard the Lion wanted to come home with me and be my pet. Love him.
I'll take everything! I want everything! How dare you tease me like this..
ReplyDeleteI love the dresser with all the little drawers! New seasons always make me so excited!
ReplyDeletejust saw your blog for the first time! what a fabulous aesthetic you've got!!
ReplyDeleteHi I'm a Hong Kong girl. When I first visited Habitat in Germany last year summer I fall in love with Habitat! It's a pity that they moved out of Asia as my friends and I tied to go to their store in Bangkok this January.
ReplyDeleteBut I did pay a visit to their store when I travelled to London this June ! It's brilliant! As a big fan of Habitat I got a few things there in a rush.
By the way I must say your blog is great and I love reading it. I am a journalism graduate as well and I like furnitures/interior design. I wonder if you're now a editor at some magazines because you write a lot about interior decors?
Autumn. Hehehe.
ReplyDeleteThose metallic light fixtures and the table in the last picture are tops!
ummm yeah must go check this out now
ReplyDeleteLovely! I love the touches of bold color. Must go visit the site now, thanks for sharing this Will!
ReplyDeleteNancy

ReplyDeleteok, I'm swooning over that patterned pendant light! I can't wait to get back to Dublin to visit the Habitat there! : )
ReplyDeleteYUM! Totally digging that pixelated artwork too. Have the best weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I loved shopping at Habitat during my 8 years in London. Their textiles department was frequently visited by moi! :)
ReplyDeleteEspecially loved the one near the Conran Shop on Fullham Road - around the corner from where I used to live then (before I settled in Park Road, near Regents Park).
I love the bottom picture. Could pretty much move right in to that one. Also think the top half of the first montage is fantastic. A little bit 'Scandinavian rustic'.. would suit perfectly for Autumn in the North. Though of course we here in Sydney are looking forward to Spring now.. Soooooon.

I went into Habitat the other day, and loooooved the peacock table runner and the lime green coat rack. The coat rack is 150 quid! Think I may have to DIY that one...
