I was lucky enough to holiday to the Greek islands several times during my childhood and ever since my first visit I have been drawn back to the azure blue hues, which are almost synonymous with the islands. It's a great colour to use when decorating and can give two effects: use as an accent for a calming scheme or mix shades and tones (just like the sea) for a more dramatic look. I like it best used as an accent shade (6) - I've decided it's a shade of blue that's definitely best friends with white. Which is your favourite?
I would just die in that bathroom... I am thinking those tiles are Dutch?
ReplyDeletebefore reading the whole post I thought "this is greek blue" love it!
ReplyDeleteA fabulous colour indeed! Especially like the first picture and those bathroom panorama tiles. Amazing.
ReplyDelete@The Shiny Pebble - The bath is from Drummonds, not sure about the tiles.
ReplyDelete@Helena - Brilliant, I'm glad these colours made you think of Greece!

When I was a young girl I used to wear clothes/dresses in this bright blue colours! And I still do love all blue tones. Blue stands for the spiritual, the thinking and wisdom...

Will -- Great minds apparently think very much alike! You obviously love Oia/Santorini, which is also one of my very favorite spots, and you obviously love white as well! We seem to be on the same wave length at present (or always!) with out whites and blues and summer and Greece. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment about Mykonos, and thanks for making your own blog so worthwhile. Looking forward to much more!
So, talk to you again when I'm back.
