An Easter in the Cotswolds & Market Picks

Photography by Will Taylor | Market Picks: Honey Dipper | Spoon | Coasters | Bench | Wooden Bread Boards 1, 2, 3 | Candle
Hello there! How are you all? Whether you celebrated Easter or not, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I took a few days off to visit my family in the Cotswolds and it was total bliss! We took a long walk across seemingly endless fields, through damp woods and up steep hillside paths before enjoying lunch in a country pub, complete with a roaring fire. It felt great to spend a few days out of the city to recharge the batteries. Going home always reminds me how much joy I get from country pursuits: long walks, helping to look after the chickens and baking with my mum in the kitchen. These past few days left me inspired to find some organic, wooden home accessories, so I pulled together a handful of pieces from three top notch stores. I love those wooden dipped bread boards because they are the perfect marriage of organic material and colourful accents. What's been inspiring you lately, friends?

{White and Wood}

Often I write about adding personality to homes through the addition of colour, from bold paints to bright accessories, but there are softer ways to add colour, warmth and texture. These images show how white spaces don't have to be minimalist and stark, instead they can be luxurious and welcoming. The day bed (1) is covered in cushions of various pale tones and textures, which adds interest and depth. Meanwhile, what is essentially a very simple scheme is brought to life with the addition of a statement chandelier. This is definitely a great way to 'lift' pale schemes - check out the light bulb chandelier (5) below for all the evidence you'll need. If you've fallen for it, you can buy it from Pottery Barn. My tip for adding warmth to these schemes is simple: lots of texture. Achieve this effect with exposed wooden surfaces (4), flooring and accessories, just like in these examples.
