Heart Home Mag Sneak Peek: Bright Decor

I'm super excited to be sharing this sneak peek of Heart Home magazine's Winter issue ahead of the full launch tomorrow. Isn't this shoot a bright delight?! I'm in love with the sophisticated take on a multi-hued palette, which has been grounded by a chic grey base palette. The inspiring scheme has been expertly pulled together resulting in a balance between the three key elements - colour, pattern and texture. The mix of brights are tempered by sleek grey tones; the graphic patterns add visual interest and break up the individual hues; and texture is introduced through cable knit throws. Whilst yesterday's post on a multi-colour bedroom scheme felt ideal for the summer months, I think this is the perfect take on a similar palette for winter. What do you think, friends? Be sure to check out the full Winter issue of Heart Home magazine when it launches tomorrow.

Black, White & Yellow Colour Inspiration

The great thing about colour is how it can dramatically change the feel of a home, expressing the owner's personality in the process. Yesterday's post on pastel and neon hues showed us how to create a light, bright and bold scheme, whereas today we're turning the tables with a brooding and dramatic colour palette. Equally as striking but for different reasons, this black, white and yellow colour scheme from the forthcoming issue of Heart Home Magazine feels perfect for the autumnal days that lie ahead. The palette feels might be dramatic, deep and daring but it's also cosy, comforting and inviting as the deep tones are warmed with splashes of yellow. In fact, this is a fine example of how to use an accent shade to keep a room interesting. By visually breaking the darker base colours with the yellow accessories, the eye has a focal point which in turn anchors the rest of the space. I don't know about you but I'm excited to see the rest of Heart Home's issue when it launches later today. P.S. Isn't that typewriter such a beauty? Mr. Bazaar loves!

Sneak Peek: Heart Home Mag, Summer 2012

The new issue of Heart Home magazine is set to launch next week, but if you head over to their website today and sign up to the newsletter you can see a preview of the magazine ahead of time. Pretty fun, right?! To give you a little taster I'm sharing some of my favourite tear sheets from the issue, which is a visual feast of summertime inspirations. The first is the delightful kitchen-diner in Henny Tate's remote country cottage. I love the bench seating along the dining table and the weathered soft mint chairs. Rebecca and Mark Partridge's beach house is a lesson in how to achieve a cool, calm and texture-packed space for the summer months - I love the metal and wood materials against the white washed bricks. Finally, the wedding styling story had my cooing at my screen, for both the organic, rustic and summer bright schemes. What's inspiring you from this sneak peek, friends?

As well as features on Johnny Egg (famous for his fab flocked products), there's tours of the homes belonging to designer Catherine Hammerton and interiors stylist Marie Nichols. In addition to the inspiring homes, you will also find interesting columns written by bloggers you know and love, as well as this beautiful spring-inspired style story. Plenty to be excited about, right! Be sure to check back to their site to read the full magazine later today.

What's the best way to make Thursday feel a little more like Friday? A new issue of a cracking lifestyle magazine you say? Well, as luck would have it, the winter issue of Heart Home magazine goes live today and it's a festive bonanza! It's such a delight to see so much British talent packed into nearly 160 pages, all of whom have worked hard to pull together inspiring seasonal ideas for the home. My standout favourite features were the Neon Christmas for it's fun, fresh take on holiday decorating, along with the home tours which felt so right for a winter issue. I'd like to take elements from all the homes to make a little Mr. Bazaar space: the clear glass bulb pendants and sanded back wooden stairs from Sarah Ellison's east London home; the old wooden chest from Claire Morgan's bedroom; the Beat pendant lights by Tom Dixon also from Sarah's home and the blue sofa with linen pillows from Natural History owner, Sarah Lidwell-Durnin's Oxfordshire home. What has you inspired in the new issue of Heart Home magazine?

New Online Magazine: Heart Home

Heart Home magazine
Thursday just turned good, folks. There's a brand new interiors magazine on virtual newsstands and quite frankly, it's a corker! Heart Home magazine launches their premier at midday today, which is a lovely, perfectly British delight. Featuring six UK home tours, including those of Karine who runs Bodie & Fou and Zoe Murphy's seaside abode, plus plenty more colourful and creative spaces, the magazine has delivered a great first issue. As well as the home tours there's a comprehensive guide to the London Design Festival (complete with charming illustrations), fashion round ups, crafty ideas and ever-so-tempting food features. I've picked out some of my inspirations from the issue here but what inspired you about Heart Home magazine's first issue?
